We had a bit of trouble getting the kor for 2. We went to our amphur which gave it last year and they said they could not this year because our marriage was not on the database, we could try another amphur. They gave another document but the lady in immigration said it would not do. We asked at another amphur but no luck, they said we had to go to the amphur where we got married in bkk 19 years ago. No way do we want to go to bkk at this time. The immigration lady gave us a number for a lady in bkk who could help us an we got a lot for 2 by going to the amphur in muang phayao, calling the lady in bkk and handing the phone to the amphur guy. An email from bkk was sent and we were done.

Btw the creation of the pack of documents for EOS is being managed by the immigration lady. They have filled in all the forms and done the photocopying of my passport. We were tasked with getting the kor ror 2 and the photographs. We had to show her the photos on my phone and she selected the ones to print. We now need to turn up on the appointed day with the bank stuff.

ahhh, yep, yours is NOT in the data base (you got married TOOO long ago for it to have been put in) and you have to go to the Amphur where you got married to get it. BUT once you do that. (where they find the hard copy and then issue you a new one) it IS in the data base from then on

we got married 25 years ago and it ended up being in the database without having then find the hard copy. This is for Kanchanaburi. Sounds like some Amphur offices are behind others. Just an fyi.

we were married 26 years ago our information was in the system but that information was limited. At first our immigration office were unhappy to accept the certificate. When we pointed out that we were married before the records were computerised they accepted it and all was fine.

Same with us. Our certificate was in an older format - they didn't like it at first until we also pointed it out that we got married 25 years ago. Glad to hear we both had the same experience. 😊

I find that lots of smiling and pose the question "this is the situation we are in, how are we going to resolve it".

No point in getting upset and pointing out the stupidity of the fact that you have your marriage certificate, marriage registration document and your wife sat next to you. Obviously it is a genuine marriage. That gets you absolutely nowhere.

Best advice is to visit your Thai immigration office and ask for their current list of requirements for the one year extension / Married to Thai.

With 70+ offices...not all immigration offices have the same list.

Are you still married to Thai ?

The form you are asking about is Kor Ror 2.

I shows you are still married and your marriage still appears on the register. You can get it at your local Amphur for 20 Baht. Best issued on the day or the day before your visit to immigration.

As to needing it at the office you use, I have no idea, but as you have such a long travel, if it were me I would be taking it with me.

, thanx. BUT just so you know
@Merv ********
, if you needed a new Kor Ror 2 form you can get it at ANY amphur in the country, there's no need to go to your specific one. it's all on a database and they just access it and print it
