How can I expedite my marriage certificate process in Thailand, particularly in Phuket?

I really need help. I have submitted all the right papers to the town hall in Phitsanulok to be able to get married. It has been nearly a month and they have told us to wait an indefinite time.

I have only got one more month left and I am looking for somewhere else to try to get a marriage certificate.

Phuket seems to be quick but they ask for original devolve papers translated to Thai. I have them in English where they were checked for the affidavit.

Has anyone else married in Phuket and can give me advice.

I got married in Phu Pha Man 3 months ago, in and out in 1 hour. All you need is two witnesses, your wife ID card, and the affidavit. I don't know what "original devolve papers" is. Your affidavit need to be translated in Thai and certified. You cannot get married anywhere in Thailand with English paperwork. I don't know what you are referring to.

An affidavit that you are legally free to marry.

devolve = divorce. Need to show legal documents you are divorced if you want to marry again here. Basic equivalent to freedom to marry document for those not previously married.

15 years ago went to the USA embassy in BKK (am USA citizen) and obtained a "free to marry" notarized doc as per the embassy procedures (cannot remember if I had it translated into Thai). Simply walked with the bride into the "Amphur" office in Phuket, without appointment, and they had us sign papers, issued two docs (which will be required for visa extension based on marriage), and we were out in less than an hour.

To my knowledge one can get married in any of the the 878 amphoe(s). Like with immigration and all the other federalist, overly bureaucratic acts in Thailand, where every local bureaucracy makes their own, deviating, ever changing rules on the fly (because some little big sheriff there just decided to do so): Just check with a hand full of different offices and pick the one that gives you the least trouble and unnecessary work. Good luck.
