I will soon apply for a marriage visa, I have everything prepared except I stay with my wife's family.
The house is in my wife fathers name, and so there is no rental contract. What do I do in that case, I can get his ID card but does anyone know if I need anything more than that
I am in Thailand on a 60 day family extension and the immigration office is Chang Wattana
Thank you

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is preparing to apply for a marriage visa in Thailand but lacks a rental contract since they live with their wife's family. They seek advice on necessary documents, particularly since the house is in the father's name. Comments suggest obtaining a copy of the land deed, the house book, the father-in-law's ID, and confirming requirements directly at the immigration office.
And we're done. This is exactly why we say GO to the immigration office WITH your thai wife, get the hand out that lists everything and have her ask if there is anything required that isn't on the hand out list.
With 70+ immigration offices in the country I'm not gonna leave the thread open so every Tom, Dick and Somchai can weigh in with what they needed at their office when they got their extension
I'd suggest to you the same to contact your local IO. I also believe that you will need a copy of the Deed of the Land where the house is located, together with a copy of the House Purchasing Agreement (if any), a copy of your father in law's house book and his Consent.
noted, thank you. also these two are on the list and I remember when I did this many years ago that I needed my rental contract to prove where I was staying. Thats the main point I am stuck on
Copy of passport, especially Non-Immigrant visa and TM6 arrival/departure card
Visa extension fee 1900 THB
Copy of your marriage certificate (if married in another country, a letter of evidence is required from your embassy as well)
Copy of Kor Ror 2 (marriage registration or long tabian) from amphoe office, dated not older than 6 months from issue of copy
Children’s birth certificates (if applicable)
Copy of spouse’s house registration
Copy of spouse’s identity card
Proof of combined income of 40,000THB or over for the previous 3 months (income tax records PDN1. forms, pension documentation, proof of income through investments, work permit, etc.
It might be, and it might be outdated. That's why you should always go to the immigration office and get the latest handout. . But let's see what you got.
