Sharing our successful DTV workation case for me and my spouse.
We are currently based in Bulgaria, so our applications were processed by the embassy in Bucharest.
I applied late in the evening on March 7 and received approval on March 12.
My documents were quite standard - employment contract, proof of accommodation, and bank statements.
I have accounts in three different currencies within the same bank, with a total balance slightly above the equivalent of 500,000 THB. Part of the funds was deposited just a few days before applying - no questions were asked.
I provided bank statements for all accounts for the last 3 months. Additionally, I included a 6-month statement from my salary account to confirm a stable source of income.
My husband applied as a dependent spouse on March 16 and got approved today, March 27.
We submitted our marriage certificate along with an official English translation.
I also wrote a sponsor letter confirming that I will cover all his expenses.
My husband does have his own income - we mentioned his employer and income details, but did not attach his contract.
The bank statements were mine (the same ones I used for my application).
We didn’t receive any additional requests or questions from the embassy - everything went smoothly and quite fast.
Big thanks to everyone who shared their experiences here - it really helped a lot 🙏
Hi All, need some clarity if anyone else has gone through this at HCMC, Vietnam.
My application is for dependent DTV’s for me and my son. My wife already has her DTV since November 2025.
24/02/26 - Application Submitted
02/03/26 - 1st Additional Request for documents
- Full Passport Scan
- DTV visa for my wife (This had already been shared)
- Birth Certificate of my son (This had already been shared)
- Current location (This also had already been shared)
(Requested documents submitted on same day)
09/03/26 - 2nd Additional Request for documents.
- Full Passport Scan (They say take a photo of every page with timestamps & not a scan, really random to be honest. I had shared all hotel bookings, visa stamps, photos, boarding pass etc in the initial application itself)
- DTV visa for my wife again & employment details( she is on soft power and all this was already clearly shared in the initial application along with stable THB 2M+ bank savings and deposits, we gave 6 months of statements with THB 2M+ consistent)
- Birth Certificate of my son (This had already been shared, so random)
- Current location (This also had already been shared twice)
It’s been a total of 17 days and it’s still stuck in Processing Pending Document Check (1).
We need to leave the country on March 15 as my e-visa will expire. What do you suggest that we do? just write an email to the Embassy to expedite because calling them has been useless as nobody picks up the calls?
Honestly, I thought the dependent visa will be simple as the documentation is pretty straightforward and everything has been given on the initial application date itself.
Hello everyone, I applied for a Thailand tourist visa from Bangladesh on 29th July through the official Thailand visa website, but my application status still shows ‘Processing’. Has anyone faced a similar delay or knows the usual processing time? Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you!
Need some advice. I applied for the DTV (Soft Power – Thai language) on July 31 and arrived in KL on August 3. So far, no updates. I called the embassy and was told:
* Proof of 6 months accommodation in Thailand is mandatory for all applicants (they’ll request it later)
* Most applicants are called in for an interview
* Processing time is usually a month
I own a condo in Thailand but don’t have the title deed or blue book with me — didn’t realize they’d be required. Given that, is it worth scrapping my KL application and restarting in Hanoi instead (same visa type)?
KL is draining. The embassy here is 100% stricter, and I’d rather not waste a month waiting for an interview that doesn’t guarantee approval. Open to any thoughts.
Has anyone had their Visa approved by the embassy in Hanoi over the weekend?
I know processing does occur over the weekend even though the embassy is not open to the public. Just wondering if there’s been any success stories of Approvals being granted over the weekend?
Currently pending approval and must extend my hotel stay. Not stressful at all 😅
Thanks in advance for any relevant experiences shared. 🙏
I have seen many people asked about sponsorship for children! Good news everyone ! my client from my Muay Thai camp got approved DTV and he applied for his son >>> same 500,000 baht statement can be used with sponsor letter and got approved too 😊
