Does anyone have any advice on teaching English as a second language in Thailand?

I've been told that Thailand has local programs for TEFL certification, which also offer cultural orientation. Any recommendations of those?

An everything else question: When a foreigner applies for work in Thailand is it necessary, or perhaps preferable, to have qualifications and other documents (in English) translated into Thai and legalized? TIA

Hi there,

I got a job offer in Thailand so I'm applying for a visa. We still didn't sign any contract so I'm not officially employed. How do you think I should answer this question? Because if I choose "no" it says that I'm not applying for the right type of visa.

Hi folks, For the last few years I have been on a 4 month contract at a Bangkok University. I get a 3 month Non-B visa in Australia, and I extend that visa to 4 months once in Bangkok.. This year I will be on a 12 month contract. During those 12 months I will return to Australia for 3 months. The advice I seek is, should I get a multiple entry 12 month Non-B visa or should I get a 3 month Non-B and extend? I have read that you can extend the 3 month visa to a multiple entry 12 month one, once in Thailand. Many thanks

I have looked at the Sydney Thai Consulate webpage but could not find sufficient information.

We moved to Bangkok a month ago and partner is here on a Non O Guardian visa (daughter is on an Ed visa).

They now have an offer of part-time work at a school and the school have said they will arrange the work visa.

I'm wondering what happens if work ends. I think the work visa ends immediately. Can they then go back onto a Guardian visa and if so, what is the process please?

Good morning friends. I am wanting to work in Thailand. I am Master of Science qualified. I have applied for many positions, without much traction. 99% of application processes ask what visa am I on, which is a tourist visa at present. Can I get advice please on how to obtain a work visa / permit? Or does a company have to provide a letter of offer as pre-requisite? Thank you. PM me if preferred.

Hi everyone, I would really appreciate some clarity...

I have accepted a job at an International school in Chiang Mai starting August 1st. I currently live in Hong Kong and the visa process here takes a long time (police check wait time is 2 plus months) I'm not sure I'd be able to make it to Thailand by August 1st.

Can I go to Chiang Mai mid July on a tourist visa and have it converted to a non B visa? If so, how long is the approval time and would a Thai police check be sufficient?
