Does anyone have recent experience in changing visa stamp to a new passport at Chaengwattana? What queue do we need and do we just need the passports or do we need to copy anything? Also is this a service we can book online? Thanks in advance
Hello. Was wondering if anyone would know if you can get your passport copied and get passport photos taken at the office in Chiang Mai festival central or will I have to do it elsewhere before? Thanks!
So I was already at 7am at the Immigration, got a queue number 290 from the immigration officer, meaning 289 people in front of me.
Went down to make some copies to transfer stamps to my new passport and for the 30 day extension.
Around 8.15am they already opened the doors and then we had to queue up again in 3 huge queues at counters where you show your documents and get another queue number for the final counter.
So I sat down at K1 counter, and there were just 10 people in front of me. One counter processed already 5 people while in the other counter the female immigration officer was busy straightened her hair with a hair straightener, no kidding right in her booth.
After that she disappeared for like 20 or so minutes. I happened to be her first customer, went in gave my documents, paid 1900thb.she was very friendly. 30min later got my new passport with my 30 day extension as well as all stamps transferred. Also got my old passport back.
So all in all it was smooth sailing but iam sure that people who are there for 90 day reports, non B visas etc will spend until after lunch time there.
Thanks and good luck to anyone going to Chaengwattana
Update on the new Ubon Ratchathani immigration office. Opened about a year ago inside a university complex. Went there today (Monday) at 10.30am to get a 30-day extension on my SETV. I didn't see a photo booth at the office, but I got six photos across the street from the university for 130THB. It was a short walk. I brought copies of my passport and visa page, but they made their own copies and had me sign them. The worker had me fill out the forms and that was it. No questions asked. Super quick.
Hellooo, so my question is not exactly visa related but perhaps someone can help me. Is it possible to get a new UK passport whist in Thailand? I am running out of pages in mine and due to apply for a new visa soon. TIA
