Hello, I wanted to ask how you handle applications from people who do not have a permanent place of residence.

We are digital nomads and have officially deregistered from Germany, so we currently don’t have a registered address or permanent residence anywhere.

How would it work for us to apply for the DTV in this situation? If we were applying from Germany, one of the requirements would be to provide a registration certificate (Meldebescheinigung), which we obviously cannot provide.

Could you please let us know what the procedure would be in our case?

You are required to remain in the country throughout the whole application process. And since it is now required to apply in the country of citizenship or permanent residence, you have maneuvered yourselves into an unfortunate situation.

And to be honest, the DTV is still a tourist visa and as Thai embassy I would definitely challenge your touristic intentions when you don't have a "home" to return.

You have a German passport so you apply from Germany. You don't need any other proof of permanent residence, although you may need to prove you are physically located in Germany when you apply

thank you but No, because the information on our consulate’s websites states that, throughout Germany, you need to provide a proof of residence (Meldebescheinigung) in order to apply.

Anna Pei do you have an id card with your previous address on it? Or an old utility bill from your previous address in Germany? I have read posts asking the same problem and they have used old paperwork with their name on it with others using a family or friends address asking to have their name added for the application
