Shocking news for declaration from 2025 and forward. For all who declare foreign income and wish to deduct their foreign tax from the Thai tax according to DTA. Now legalized documents are mandatory as per Revenue service DTA subdivision from 14.01.2026 sent out to all local tax offices!!!

What’s your plan for 2025 taxes?

Now that 2025 has come to an end, anyone with a DTV that stayed more than 180 days in Thailand has to file taxes. I tried informing myself about this topic but I’ve received a lot of conflicting information (the revenue department telling DTVs don’t pay taxes, etc). Can anyone recommend a highly qualified tax accountant and what is everyone else doing here?

With a DTV, opening an account is impossible. How can one obtain a TIN and declare income if staying more than 180 days per year?

Have you applied for your tax number TIN

have you found an accountant to submit you tax return before 31/03/2026

Are you ready for The world of Thai taxation

I have a question,

Has anyone on here successfully paid tax or got a TIN on a DTV ? Seems to be a lot of experts who can give clarity on the 180 day rule ext. but no one can say they have paid tax on a DTV.

I think all the people who are giving tax advice here are disgruntled Thailand keyboard warriors 🫡👌🙏🏽

Sorry if it’s asked a lot but re: freelancers on a DTV visa staying more than 6 months per year ..how hard is it to get a tax ID to start paying tax in Thailand? I’ve heard banks are reluctant to give them to folk on DTV

Over 200 responses to a post yesterday regarding paying tax in Thailand. Much discussed in 2024, but not so much this year. Seems to be two groups. Those that registered, and those that haven't. My question is this - has anyone heard of anyone being prosecuted for failing to register?

Hello 🙂 I would like to know if it is possible to have a Tax Identification Number (TIN) and pay tax when you have a visa DTV soft power.

Thank you in advance

Hypothetical question: If a foreigner has a TIN does this automatically make him/her a tax resident even if he/she has not been in Thailand more than 180 days in any tax year? If anyone has a definite answer this would be appreciated.

Are we liable to pay tax or file return if we live in Thailand more than 10 months with DTV Visa and a Visa run after every 160 days in one year? If so what percentage for nomads?
