TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation centers around the responsibilities of expats in Thailand regarding taxation after staying more than 180 days in a calendar year. Key points include the need for a Tax Identification Number (TIN), filing tax returns, and finding an accountant, with mentions of costs for accounting services and tax regulations that may be changing. Additionally, it discusses potential exemptions based on income and agreements like double taxation treaties.

The group admin should make a no new tax posting rule and no bankok bank frozen account posting rule. Keep only existing since these don’t result it anything new and interesting. Just people exchanging keyboard warrior threats to one another about who’s whining too much.

There are plenty of accountants who will take your money to file your tax submission. Some of trhe more well known expat ones start at 8k for a simple straightforward submission of the info you supply them 🙂 🙂

Anonymous participant The form is so simple you could easily do the 8k THB service yourself. Where it would get complex is with DTA and proof of tax paid at source before remittance etc. If you are in that complex situation then go to tax consultants that have been around a long time and not since 2023 🙂 🙂

Tip- if you’re a UAE business owner you can pay yourself with directors fees and they are not taxable in Thailand under the Tax treaty no matter how long you stay in Thailand .

there’s more too it then that but just the business yes about that . You also need to prove your tax residency which is going to cost more depending on what country you’re from . Like rent a condo in Dubai stay 91 days to get the tax certificate etc.

Just because you are a Thai tax resident it doesn’t follow that you need a TIN or to file a tax return. It just means you now come under the Thai tax jurisdiction.
