Need advise, My husband and I hold Non-O and Non-B visas in Thailand, respectively, but our baby's Non-O visa isn't ready yet. We are leaving for vacation in a week, and her Australian passport allows her to enter Japan with a visa on arrival.

Can we travel to Japan and then return to Thailand, with her entering on a visa on arrival? She doesn't currently hold any visa, as she was born in Thailand.

**DTV Visa Approved in Hanoi

**Our Thailand DTV's have been approved. As South Africans applying at the Hanoi Consulate, here’s a timeline of our journey:

Main Applicant - South African

* Application Submitted: Wednesday, 16th October 2024, at 11 pm (just after landing in Vietnam, selecting the Hanoi Consulate), have my own business therefore selected Visa type "Workcation".

* Status Update: Application status changed from "Document Check" to "Pending Approval" on Thursday, 17th October, around 10 am.

* Approval Received: Monday, 21st October 2024, at 10 am.

Documents Submitted for Main Applicant

* Bank Statements: Approximately two months’ worth of statements from three separate accounts (savings account

holding required funds and my cheque account where my salary is paid into).

* Employment Documentation: Employment contract and supporting company documents to prove ownership of the business.

* Current Location Verification: Photo of the Vietnam visa as proof of presence in Vietnam.

* Identification: Biodata page of passport or travel document.

* Recent Photograph: Taken within the last six months.

Dependent Visa - South African

* Application Submitted: Monday, 21st October 2024, around 12 pm.

* Status Update: Documents reviewed, and status changed to "Pending Approval" by end of the day on 21st October.

* Approval Received: Tuesday, 29th October 2024, at 12:23 pm.

Documents Submitted for Dependent Visa - 2 separate applications for 2 children

* Bank Statements: Three months' worth from three different accounts (main applicant only).

* Current Location Verification: Photo of the Vietnam visa as proof of being present in Vietnam (for each dependent).

* Identification: Biodata page of passport or travel document (for each dependent).

* Recent Photograph: Taken within the last six months.

* Unabridged Birth Certificate: Includes both parent details, matching main applicant’s passport information.

* Main Applicant’s Approved Visa: Provided as proof of connection to the dependent.

*As a single parent traveling with my kids, it was interesting to note that no consent documents were required from their father.*

Additional Follow-Ups for Dependent Visa:

* Since dependent Visa approval seemed to take longer than mine, I made daily calls to the consulate from 24th October, during which I was advised that the processing time for a dependent visa is typically five business days.

* Messages Sent: Contacted the Hanoi Consulate via Facebook on Friday, 25th October, and received a reply confirming the five-day processing time for dependent visas. 23rd was a public holiday and was noted counted.

* Emails Sent: Attempted contact with thaiembassy.han@mfa.go.th (no response) and later to consular.han@mfa.go.th on 28th October.

* Consulate Response: Received an email from consular.han@mfa.go.th on 29th October at 8:49 am, they confirmed the main visa was approved. I responded promptly to request an update on the pending dependent visas.

* Final Approval: Dependent visas granted at 12:23 pm on 29th October.

Thank you to everyone in this group for the support, the information, responses queries etc. made all the difference!

Hello.

We are going to Bangkok for surgery for my third child. Getting Thai visas for the children is complicated as we live in Mexico and the kids were born in Thailand and a different country in Latin America, and currently the kids born in Thailand do not have residency here. My wife is Canadian and the rest of us have US passports.

I know adults need visas, no problem there, but do the kids (the oldest is 6) need visas?

I have heard that children under 14 are not fined for overstay, but will receive "overstay" stickers in their passport that will complicate coming back.

Thank you for your time.

Can I have some advice regarding my nephew please? He is 7 weeks old, a dual UK/Thai national. He is currently in Thailand but is due to move to the UK soon when his mother's visa is approved. At the moment he only has a British passport. Can he leave Thailand using his British passport or will they need to apply for a Thai passport before they can come to the U.K?

Hi, quite a complicated one here.

Having left Thailand with my 2 year old son in June i was interviewed quite firmly at the airport, with the childs mum being called and having to photograph and send over documents (even though he was leaving on a British passport), before they would let me on the flight. It was a fairly intense situatiom an they also put a note in his Thai passport that i intended to return in September.

I now intend to return (with my son) in October. Having read Todds sticky im fairly concerned about what will happen at the airport as i did stay in a Thailand on covid extensions from March 2020 until June 2022 to take care of my son.

My original plan for October was to arrive on Visa exempt (45 days), get the obligatory 30 day extension, then get a further 30 days based on having a thai child, giving me a total of 105 days and returning to the UK (with my son) mid January.

My original query was to ask is it acceptable to book our return flights for January or do i need to show that i have an intention to leave within 45 days?

But now im also concerned that (a) they might possibly deny me entry due to previous covid extensions? (b) The note in my sons passport says I will return in September when in fact it will be October.

Will the fact i have my half Thai son with me, help / hinder or have no impact on my entry in to the Kingdom? Is it at all conceivable they could seperate me from my son?

Thanks in advance.

🙏

I'm after some advice about transiting through Bangkok Airport from Cambodia to UK on the 30th April. We have to wait 21 hours at the airport in Bangkok until our flight, so we need to collect our luggage and check in again. I read that we have to get medical insurance for $20'000, is this still the case? And would we need to do a PCR covid test? I've found only conflicting answers and outdated advice so far so I'm hoping to get a definitive answer.
