Hey there! Any families using the Ride Safer Vest in Grab cars? I want to make sure it'll work before traveling. Thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The Ride Safer Vest can be used in Grab cars as it works with standard seat belts, effectively repositioning them to fit children. However, users should be aware that some Grab cars may not have functional seat belts in the back seat, which could be an issue for safety.

I’ve traveled with this. It works with any normal seat belt. It essentially re-positions a seat belt to fit the child.

yes! It looks promising. You've used it in Thailand before? Or which counties? Thanks!

Does this work in some way with the existing seat belt? I've been in a few Grab that either didn't have seat belts in the back seat or made them non-functional, so that could be an issue.

I assumed as much, I just wanted to make you aware of the situation I'd been in without seatbelts before.

that's good to know for sure, thank you. Maybe we Just lucked out last time but we used Grab a ton and usually had almost brand new vehicles with seat belts. Maybe that's just the area we were in. We hardly used taxis, just grab.

I never saw a vehicle without seatbelts. But they were made inoperable in some. For example the part you click into was put underneath the seat and not reachable or usable. Or the seatbelt was put behind the seat (like when you put the backseat down to access the trunk and then the seatbelt was placed in there and it was closed).

gotcha. Good to know. Most our grab drivers were super helpful and friendly, so I'm sure it wouldn't be a problem to adjust the seat if that was the case. I just wanted to make sure the seat belts weren't at like a different angle or somthing than US ones, because this device was designed in the US.

yes, it utilizes the existing 3 point adult seat belt in a vehicle. Basically, the child puts this on like a vest and then it holds the car seat belt in the correct place. All the grabs I took last year were pretty modern vehicles with seat belts, but this was mostly just in Bangkok, not rural Thailand. I'm pretty sure it will work just wanted to see if anyone has actually used one there.
