I havent been to thailand since mid july, my account was frozen in june. I visited a branch and gave them all the paperwork and a sweet lady agreed to open it again. As there has been so many problems with these accounts after I left, do they usually close them 2 times in a row? I am on the DTV visa, I am not married, no kids and no rental contract. but i desperately need a bank account so I can transfer money here for tax purposes. If they wont allow me I guess the elite visa is my only option for opening up an account? Thats gonna be one expensive bank account!

Here is the form submitted today at kasikorn to obtain the certificate of inward transfer. My friend says that immigration and for visa renewal are mentioned in the purpose for the certificate. The bank keeps this form.

Just checking

We married in The Netherlands and want to register our marriage in Thailand too. Than I can base the yearly extention of a Non-immigrant O visa on our marriage. I had our marriage certificate legalized here in The Netherlands by the MFA and the Thai embassy. So far so good.

I found a translator in Bangkok who will do the registration at the MFA in Bangkok. For that I will provide here with the legalized marriage certificate, a legalized copy of my passport by the Dutch embassy, a copy of the Thai identity card of my spouse and his Tabien Baan. The translator will send the registered document to our address in Phitsanulok. Than I will register our marriage at the municipality (Amphur). I was told that I should insist to keep the original marriage certificate for Immigration, the Amphur should keep a copy. I hope this goes well. Anyone who has experience with this?

Having done all this, after two months of stay I can ask Immigration for extension of my visa, based on our marriage. My Thai spouse has a bank account with more than 400,000 baht, so I don't need a bank account of my own. At least that's what Immigration told me in April when we were there. But if necessary I can open a bank account of my own with a Certificate of Residence, to be provided by Immigration. To be sure, I will check again with Immigration after our arrival.

For the extension next year we will not have 400,000 baht any more on my spouses bankaccount, we will use the money for a house (to assure my rights, we will register an Usufruct agreement for as long as I live). But the Dutch embassy can provide an affidavit about my pension, that's enough. Just to be sure, I will also check this with Immigration.

Anyone any comment? Did I miss something? Thank you.

Is it true that if you're a Thai tax resident (living in Thailand more than 180 days) and you remit income throughout the year that is LESS THAN 120,000 THB, then you are NOT required to file a Thai tax return?

Hi all,

Any advice or stories of your experience is appreciated.

I'm applying for the DTV visa as a remote worker and will be applying for my wife and son after mine is approved.

We are Canadians and currently traveling abroad.

We have read for fast approval that staying and applying from Vietnam is a good option, however, I've also read that I need to apply from my country where my remote work employment is located (Canada).

Has anyone here applied for a visa through Vietnam with success that is not a current resident there and just staying for a month?

Thanks in advance!

Today i went to the kasikorn branch on pattaya klang which does have an international services window. I brought my wise pdf receipt, passport, bank book. They have already dealt with this matter recently for other customers . so i signed a form called "application for issuance global inward certificate" and was issued the item below which they assured me would pass muster with immigration. Very helpful staff said i could return in 6 months when renewal is due and get the same certificate with all transactions for the same cost, 200 baht. Just be sure to bring the above items again. I trust them but on monday will go back to immigration and verify that this certificate is acceptable.

Hi, did anyone present the papers at the embassy in Madrid for the DTV? How long did you have to wait? Do you know if english language is ok/enough? Thank you :)

I'm approved, got a few tips to counteract all the negative nancies in here lol.

Mainly, I'd really recommend using a visa service to obtain the DTV, a few hundred bucks to have professionals check your documents, submit and advise on what to do is worth the peace of mind.

It's also likely that they have connections within the embassy to get you through if you encounter problems, I've seen this with my ED visa as well - I assume - because I did this last time, that on my previous ED visa, the 90 day reports had some staff that seemed directly associated with the school I attended at the government complex in BKK you have to go to.

Also a side note, the officer that interviewed me in Laos seemed to like the fact that I was applying to the same school I already trained with to do train Muay Thai. You also have to show proof you've paid for the course for 6m to 1 year, I intend on training for atleast another year and got the full 5 year DTV.

Other tips if applying from Laos (Vientiane)

* Very few banks/exchanges have 10000 baht which you need to pay the embassy with after you get a QR code. I went to about 4 different banks/exchanges before giving up and going all the way back to the airport just to change KIP over.

* If you use an agency, make sure they send the interview confirmation as an image or forward to your own email address. Normally agencies use a custom email address to complete the application on your behalf. This almost caused a problem a few days ago when the guy at the embassy wanted to see it and it wasn't an expected document/proof requested anywhere.

* Get a Unitel Laos sim card at the airport and top it up at shops when it expires, sometimes they have a sign outside showing unitel data/days of service and the price. This is to make sure your internet is working if they ask to see your banking app for money proof (and for staying connected out and about). Plus most esims don't even work in Laos or have ridiculous 1st world roaming charges there... haven't done this mobile credit top up stuff for atleast 20 years, so this was a blast from the past 😹

* My sim card expired while I was there and it was annoyingly difficult to buy one from a convenience store (most of them don't have it). However, there is a lady selling sim cards by the Vientiane Center mall from a tiny stall lol... I searched the entire fking mall to find a phone shop that also has sim cards, and a random street seller had exactly what I needed 🤦‍♂️.
