I am currently in Thailand under the visa exemption, and my exemption stamp is set to expire in three days. I would like to extend my stay but I do not have a TM30. Since arriving in Thailand, I have been staying with a friend, and I was unaware that a TM30 was required.

Is there any possibility for me to extend my stay at this point, or will I need to exit the country? This is my first time attempting to extend a visa exemption, so I am unfamiliar with the process.

I acknowledge that I should have researched this more thoroughly beforehand, and I appreciate any guidance or advice you can offer.

Thank you in advance.

Hi all :)

Has anyone experienced applying for the DTV when not in their home country? We are from the UK but currently visiting Turkey for a month, then heading to Malaysia then heading to Thailand for December (travelling family). I was thinking of applying for DTV but read I need to be in my home country (I will be applying online). Just wanted to ask if this was really a thing or whether it doesnt matter?

Thanks!

Change over to E-Visa system.

A number of consulates around the region are changing over to the e-visa system as of 8th of October. This means that you will no longer be able to apply in person from then on.

Also be aware that some will suspend visa processing earlier to prepare for the change over. If you are heading over to get a visa it may be wise to check directly with them on their processing times for walk in applications.

For those who successfully obtained the DTV as a remote worker, was a letter from your employer (with details of the role, ability to work remotely, etc.) enough? Or did you additionally need to show your employment contract? I work for my family's business so I don't really have a contract in the same way a worker in a corporation would.

For reference, I'm considering applying in Jakarta or Taipei.

My Non-O Retirement visa is valid until May 2025. But I plan to move out of Thailand by December 2024. What am I legally supposed to do regarding Immigration? Do I have to notify them ahead of time? Or just at the airport? Or can I just go and do nothing?
