Hi guys, Looking for advice regarding visa extensions for children under 14. I am currently on a 60 day visa upon arrival and need to extend for another 30 days. My children have one overstay stamp in their passports but weren't fined or not let in or out from our last visit, we plan to keep coming to Thailand over the next few years and don't want to cause any problems in the future but also don't want to pay if not necessary. Thanks for all your replies :)

Hi. I have been a member of the group for a while and have benefited from the advice of Brandon Et al. I’m from the uk and have been travelling to Thailand for many years, spending up to 6 months per year there. I have used visa-free and tourist visas for this but this time have a non-o 90 day visa based on retirement to arrive in December. My plan was possibly to extend this for one year based on 800k in the bank. But the exchange rate is not great at the moment and I am reluctant to place money in a “ dead” account permanently. So now for the question. I read about the DTV visa (5 years multi-entry). I am retired (62) but didn’t think I would qualify as no desire to work. What I read is that you can get this based on cookery classes (even just a couple of weeks from a registered school?). I enjoy Thai cooking and would like to learn more so would not be an issue. This sounds too good to be true (10k baht for the visa plus the cost of the class). Am I missing something here or is this a viable option? TIA for constructive replies.

I am considering applying for DTV for medical visa. I have a spine condition and have already seen a doctor in Bangkok who gave me a medical certificate with diagnosis and treatment plan however the certificate says treatment (being medical physical therapy at a hospital) for 6 weeks. However since he only wrote it for 6 weeks would it not be approved? Should I ask for a longer treatment plan?

Hello all , I know it’s a regular question but the rules change so regularly, I’m planning next year to visit Thailand again for 3 months, I have in the past used my passport for the first 30 days applied also for the extra 30 days via an e- visa ( done online ) & then when in Thailand gone to the dreaded local immigration offices for the remaining days to cover my return flight to the uk . My questions are , have the laws changed & have I been doing the easiest ways of staying in Thailand for 90 days ? . Thank you for any replies .
