Any recent reports on the Sri Lanka embassy at all?

When I searched the group there had not been any posts since November.

Transferring DTV sticker visa to new passport?

Hi, could I ask for some advice, please? (I read a few posts about transferring stamps, but some of them are quite old, and I didn't see anything about transferring a DTV.)

I just got a new passport, but the DTV sticker visa in my old passport is valid until Nov 2029. Do I need to go to Immigration (for some sort of visa transfer), or can I just show both passports every time I enter Thailand (until Nov 2029)?

Thank you in advance!

Has anyone applied for a soft power (medical) DTV visa in Tokyo? What was your experience and were you successful? Did you have to visit the embassy or could it be completed all online? I'm currently in Japan on a tourist visa. I have seen some older information stating I require residency, though newer embassy posts seem to just require an entry stamp.

Goal: Is to open a Thai Bank account so I can slowly build up the 800,000 baht over the next two years.

Plan: I will be taking my normal 2 week holiday in Thailand, I will be in and out. But this time , I plan on entering on a Non Immigrant O Retirement visa from my home country.

I want to do what is necessary to open a Thai Bank Account, as if I were going to apply for the Non Immigrant O extension.

If I can secure the Bank Account,. mission successful, and I would exit I hope on the Non O visa after 2 weeks.

I would then apply again for Non O in 2027, When I actually plan on living in Thailand for long term. Again my main purpose on this trip is simply to begin the funding process early and establish the Thai Bank Account, so I can move money a bit at a time.

Will there be any problems on my exit, if I exit after 2 weeks on the Visa. I hope it is my prerogative how long I stay less than the 90 days.

How have people managed to get a post paid sim registered to their name? True move told me I need a work permit, which I think might be BS. Bangkok bank didn’t warn me before deleting my accounts yesterday just as I was trying to pay for something 😜

Hey ya'll, planning on moving to Thailand later this year once I have more funds saved up, and trying to figure out which visa is right for me.

I'm a chef and plan on going the soft-power DTV route, through my friend's cooking school in Chiang Mai. However, knowing that I cannot work for a Thai company with a DTV I'm wondering if the Non-imm B visa is a better choice for me if I end up working at a restaurant/bar or elsewhere after being there awhile.

Has anyone switched from a DTV to a non-B before? Is there a better way I should go about my plan?

Thanks group for all the insight! Been learning so much from everyone here.
