Just a quick question - I'm getting ready to apply for a DTV from the Thai Consulate in Los Angeles and I was just wondering if I need to show a purchased plane ticket to Thailand when applying? Thanks.

I applied for my Non-Immigrant O [90-day] visa in Belgium 10 days ago. I received my approval by email today. I have a few questions, and I hope someone can help me. Do I need to book a return ticket, or can I use a one-way ticket to Thailand, since I'll be applying for a one-year extension there? Is it still possible to open a bank account with this 90-day visa and a TM30 without going through a visa office? Thanks in advance for your help.

Good evening. I have a question on a weird experience I just had at the Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok. I was informed by the check-in agent, for the flight i was taking out of country, that i would have to pay immigration 20K Thai Baht because of my previous time in the country and my plans to return. The check-in agent also took a picture of me with their personal cell phone while she was talking to me about this.

Is this normal and is this legal (see below for the background on my travel)

Background: I was asked multiple questions about my passport, visa’s and future travel plans to Thailand by the check-in agent for the flight I was taking out of country.

1) I was on a 90D Non-Immigrant O visa

2) Left country with my Thai wife on the 90th day to another country for 4 days via flight.

3) Returned to Thailand and received a 60D Tourist Visa

4) Leaving country on my 60th day to another country for 4 days.

- The ticket agent asked if I was returning to Thailand, which they should have been able to see in the system that I had a round trip ticket. I answered “Yes”.

- I also informed them that I had a return trip to my country already purchased for 60 Days after I return to Thailand from our 4 day holiday.

At this point i was informed i would have to be interviewed by immigration upon my return which is normal (No issues here).

But then informed i would have to pay 20,000 Thai Baht to immigration when i returned because of time i had already spent in Thailand. The check in agent also took my picture with her cell phone (This is where my Spidey senses started sparking and wanted to reach out for any thoughts, similar experiences, or recommendations).

Thank you in advance.@

I hope this falls I to the everything else category.

I have been in the UK since April and have had no issues with my Bangkok Banking app for the three years I have had the account. Today I tried to open the app and was presented with the message below. I am somewhat surprised because I bought the sim card I use in 2019 and opened my bank account in 2022. I certainly did not use anyone elses name to get either. I have rung the number and spoken to someone about the issue and they say I have to go to my local branch to sort it out. As that is over 6000 miles away I explained it wasnt possible! I also explained that now I am unable to pay my rent or for utilities and other things. He told me he would look into it and would contact me within 5 days by email. I dont hold out much hope. I also need to transfer money back to UK as the cost of living here is horrendous and I cant return to Thailand until October.

Has anyone else had this situation and found a way to get around it from abroad? I am aware that it has happened to others but I thought I was safe as I had both sim and account in my name?

We are looking at requirements for Non o 90 day visa, it asks for confirmation of legal residence, what document would cover that , I thought the Uk passport which they ask for would have , any suggestions in the UK ? Also health insurance, we have a year travel insurance that needs renewed in September which we will extend easily but I can’t see anything on insurance to cover covid . We hope to complete this week but reading reviews and other questions online the Thai e visa site seems a bit difficult to navigate . Any suggestions/ advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Is there any precaution I should take if a Visa Agent, realtor, or Insurance agent requests photos of my passport? Can this cause problems for me?

Hello, This group has been very helpful regarding retirement visas. Has anyone used the THAI VISA CENTRE - visa agent? What is your thoughts and experience? I would kindly appreciate any feedback.
