Just wanted to share my experience applying for the DTV — hopefully this helps anyone going through it!

🗓 Timeline:

• Friday 24th Oct – Submitted my application

• Wednesday 29th Oct – Approved ✅

(No additional information requested)

🥋 Muay Thai Training / Activity Requirement:

I applied under the Muay Thai training category with Lamai Muay Thai Camp, Koh Samui.

They were really helpful and super quick providing all the paperwork needed.

The program is a 6-month membership, offering up to 6 days per week / 2 hours per day training for around 34k THB.

Attendance isn’t mandatory every day, but they did say to attend regularly (at least weekly) as immigration may check attendance.

📧 For anyone needing info or documents from them, contact Nikki at muaythaitour@hotmail.com — she was amazing and very efficient.

⚖️ Visa Assistance:

I used Siam Legal (Bangkok) for consultation and processing. They do charge a fee, but it made everything stress-free.

Highly recommend Kanda — she was fantastic and very responsive 🙏

✈️ Where I Applied:

I was advised to apply in Hanoi for faster processing — and that was definitely true. From submission to approval, it took only 3.5 working days!

🌴 Overall, it’s been a smooth experience and I’m really happy with how easy it was.

Hope this helps anyone applying soon — good luck everyone! 🤞💙

Thank You for your helpful report 👍

Congratulations 👏👏👏

PRINT OUT THE EMAIL THAT HAS YOUR DTV VISA.

That's what you should do... print it out.

You may have to show PROOF of your DTV Visa to airline staff on check-in for your flight ✈️ to Thailand...even to the connecting airline staff. Or to the land border crossing entry Thai Immigration Officer.

Upon arrival into Thailand, show the DTV visa to the Thai Immigration Officer and look at the STAMP placed in your passport to be sure you are STAMPED in for 180 days.

Congratulations! You mentioned that the Muay Thai gym warned you about attendance. Was that just a precaution, or did they hear something specific?

Anonymous participant 113 he mentioned that it’s common lots of people try and apply through gyms and never show up, he wanted to make sure I was going to commit as he is giving his details to immigration as a professional business. He mentioned that visas have been cancelled by immigration if people don’t take the opportunity seriously. I was glad for this advice. I’m so unfit so now even more motivated 🤣

thank you for your helpful reply... and ..

just as Thai Immigration has an ongoing crackdown on the Ed Visa holders for Thai language study, the school was responsible for keeping attendance records of their students. Over a thousand Ed Visas were cancelled for non attendance.

Which means it's wise to attend the Muay Thai training course of study for the DTV visa that you were approved for.

Thanks! I think the owners’ concerns are indeed valid, as many people are using it as an excuse. I live next to one of those popular DTV Muay Thai schools, and I can barely see any increase in attendance. It’s good for you, since your school will be subject to much less scrutiny if any checks take place. Enjoy your classes! 👍
