Hello everyone. I can't remember this, so I came here to ask. I have been back to the US for about three months now, and since I have the DTV, going back to Thailand, do I need to buy a round-trip ticket, or a one-way ticket should be ok and cause me no problems? I plan to go to BKK, maybe connecting to CNX. Thank you.

I have a silly little question. I'm starting to put my documents package together, and when I took the photo that they required it dawned on me, should I take my glasses off so it is the same as my passport? Any other glasses wearers have issues?

I’m a US citizen planning on traveling to Thailand in September on my third visa exemption in 2025. I was reading someone getting denied and sent back home doing this recently. My plan was to go onward to Vietnam after a month in Thailand and apply for the DTV in HCMC. Has anyone else heard of someone getting denied on their third visa exemption entry by air? Lastly I wanted to set up a condo to rent while I am there on the tourist visa to come back to after hopefully getting approved for the DTV in Vietnam, any advice on this?

Has anyone used Issa Compass to apply for the DTV as self employed? What was your experience with them?

And before all of you salty expats start shaming me: I’m genuinely curious.

Please only leave a comment about your experience using Issa Compass.

I am from Bangladesh with a Bangladeshi passport ( obviously). I am looking into DTV through soft skills ( cooking schools for now). I will be applying from Bangladesh. I checked the feed but couldn’t find if anyone from Bangladesh had success in this. Any leads on this will be very helpful.

Hi everyone! I’m applying for my DTV and in the travel information section of the online form it requires to fill out flight number, accommodation details and Thai phone number. The issue is that I don’t have these info available at the moment given I’m planning to move to Thailand at the beginning of October.

Any suggestions on how to proceed?

Thank you in advance for your help.

I’m second guessing my plan and could use some advice from the hive mind here. I arrived last week on a non-o retirement visa. I got a phone number and opened a bank account at Kasikorn on Friday. My original plan was to get this much done, then use a reputable agent for the rest of the process. However, it seems like immigration is cracking down all over, and I don’t want to jeopardize getting an extension by not actually having 800k in the bank for the proper seasoning period. How risky is it to use an agent right now? I was planning to go with the 65k/month method for the following year, and will start those monthly deposits as soon as I figure out how to use Wise!

Hello everyone! Me and my husband just married and plan to move to Thailand from the U.S. We purchashed a one way flight to Thailand for next month. The goal is to live in Thailand for at least a year. We think education visa would be best. However we’re not sure if we should purchase the classes and go with the education visa before getting there or getting an E-visa then changing to education visa once we’re there.

Hello everyone, I was just wondering if any of you had an issue opening a bank account with a non-immigrant OA visa secured in your home country (but without a long-term lease in Thailand?) I know the OA does not require a long-term lease as part of its approval process, but does the bank require a long-term lease before opening?

Thanks!
