Hey everyone. Iโm nearing my 360 days for my DTV, all my 90 day check-ins, and my 180 day extension were all done to the exact dates, and everything is in order.
But Iโm wondering if anyone has had any issues leaving Thailand and returning back with DTV?
Can I do a border run? Do I have to be out of Thailand for a certain amount of time? Do they re-check credentials when re-entering?
Any insights would be appreciated ๐๐ผ

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring about the possibility and conditions of doing a border run with their DTV visa after nearing 360 days in Thailand. They seek information on whether anyone has faced issues re-entering Thailand and if there are specific timeframes for being out of the country. Responses indicate that most individuals have not encountered problems when returning with a DTV visa, asserting that there are generally no specific time requirements for being out of Thailand. However, there is a mention of a specific incident at Hat Yai where some travelers experienced difficulties that made the process unsettling. This highlights the variability in experiences at border crossings.
We had issues at the Hat Yai Padang Besar border a couple of weeks ago unfortunately. Crossed into Malaysia - turned around to come back and the Thai IO told us to sit outside for 2 hours. When I asked why that is, he threatened me with option #2 - not letting us back in at all. Very unsettling experience. I am on a freelancer DTV with a legit business, we are

years old, were dressed nicely and always friendly and respectful. I'm sure the IO just had a bad day or needed to up his power but the whole process there was very confusing and not enjoyable at all. I wont be using that one again thats for sure ๐

No, no one has had issues returning because they have an actual visa. You don't have to be out any amount of time.
