DTV question: has anyone applied for the dtv from the Uk using the e visa system? What proof of residency did you require and is there any part of the process that required you to go to an embassy?

Also does anyone know if the visa starts when you enter Thailand or when it’s issued?

Thanks in advance

DTV Visa : Photographer / Videographer

Hi all, can someone please explain how come freelancer (photographer / videographer) do not qualify for DTV if their clients are based abroad, and not working for any local based (Thai) clients.

Does "artist" qualify for DTV in that case? I can show a portfolio of images for exhibition in galleries.

Thanks for your help.

I’m currently in Cambodia while waiting for my DTV to be approved. Once it’s approved, can I go to Bangkok by land or do I have to enter by airplane in order to activate the DTV visa? When applying online, you can select to enter by land through a border checkpoint, so I’m assuming you can, but then there are people that say otherwise.

Hello everyone!

I have a question for those who applied in Vientiane, in addition to bank statements have you also submitted gurantee letter?

The cartoonish post on the embassy's website only mention bank statements but I read that some also submitted guarantee letter, and I wanted to know if this is an official requiremnet.

Thanks in advance...

Hello everyone.

This has probably been asked a few times before, so apologies for any repetition (I did try to have a look through the group)!

My wife and I are going to be applying for the DTV from the UK soon.

We are both Product Managers and have full time jobs/contracts but we are leaving our current roles and are planning to go freelance with nothing lined up just yet.

Just as additional info: My current role (that I am leaving) is a full time contract. I work remotely but my contract does have my 'official' base as London. I am allowed to work remotely abroad for a certain amount of time a year.

For the portfolio - has anyone had experience just using an adapted CV? Has this proved an issue at all when applying for the visa?

Additionally - are we better off applying for the Visa as a couple or applying separately? Or does it make no difference?

Thanks!

I'm curious how likely it is to get denied a 30 day extension after my last (recent) trip had an extension.

Both trips have been done on a 60 day tourist visa. I had no issues the first time extending my visa.. but the concern comes because I left Thailand for 10 days and came back under a new 60 day tourist visa. Immigration pulled me aside and was asking if I am working here or have a girlfriend here (I don't). They then asked if I have a flight out and made me show them. They continued to ask where I'm going afterward to make sure I wasn't coming to Thailand right after.

Now I'm worried about getting my extension. I've read other people have similar questioning from immigration when returning to the county, only to get denied the extension, saying that immigration put a note saying they would leave the country within 60 days. I have only seen this once on reddit.

This is my 2nd time in Thailand this year, but the last time I was here was 2018. So it's not like I keep coming back.. but I am curious if there is a concern trying to do two back to back tourist visas, both with extensions.

(I'm American and aware I could have just done a visa exemption, but figured a tourist visa was more likely to get me approved for the entries and the extensions).
