DTV question: has anyone applied for the dtv from the Uk using the e visa system? What proof of residency did you require and is there any part of the process that required you to go to an embassy?

Also does anyone know if the visa starts when you enter Thailand or when it’s issued?

Thanks in advance

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquired about applying for a Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) from the UK using the e-visa system, specifically asking about the required proof of residency and whether any part of the process necessitates visiting an embassy. A commenter noted that a driver's license or utility bill could serve as proof of residency, and that the entire process can be completed online. They also confirmed that the visa validity begins on the issuance date, not upon entry into Thailand.

For proof of location you can use drivers license if it has your address on it, or a utility bill with your name and UK address.

Everything is online.

The visa starts the day it is issued.

I don’t suppose you know if bank statements are accepted for proof of address?

Also when it’s issued is it just an email you receive or do you have to send them your passport for a stamp?

assuming you’ve gone through this process. What health insurance company did you use? And what documents from them do you need?

Also if you got a letter from your employer to prove you’re freelance, what are the key things that your employer has to include in the letter.

Thanks in advance 😃

You do not need insurance to get the DTV. Essential your employer note you can work remotely overseas/Thailand. Detail your position etc. can mention that you work with non Thai firms/clients. No income generated in Thailand.

each embassy gets to decide what they will and won't accept.

It's just an email pdf that you need to print and keep with you to give to passport control.

I believe the visa starts the day it gets stamped when you enter Thailand

the visa has a a start and end date on it when it's issued by the embassy. The start date is the day it is issued and the end date is 5 years after that. That is when the visa ends.

When you enter Thailand you get 180 day entry stamp. That's just your permission to stay and has nothing to do with how long your visa is valid.

do you have a DTV visa?
Brandon ************
@Kraig *****
no, but the DTV is just a multiple entry visa. Every multiple entry visa works the same way.

do you work for the Thai visa office? If not you can’t be 100% sure because I watched a video with head of foreign affairs minister and he said e-visa starts when you enter Thailand .

You literally have no idea what you are talking about. So stop spreading misinformation.
