Can I enter Thailand by land to activate my DTV visa after approval while waiting in Cambodia?

I’m currently in Cambodia while waiting for my DTV to be approved. Once it’s approved, can I go to Bangkok by land or do I have to enter by airplane in order to activate the DTV visa? When applying online, you can select to enter by land through a border checkpoint, so I’m assuming you can, but then there are people that say otherwise.

TLDR : Answer Summary
You can enter Thailand by land or air to activate your DTV visa after approval. Your visa becomes active as soon as it is issued by the embassy, and the entry stamp you receive upon entering the country will determine your stay duration. Both land (e.g., via Poipet) and air travel from Cambodia are valid options.

Either is fine. Several clarifications though. Your visa is active as soon as the embassy issues it, so you don’t have to “activate” anything. What happens is when you are entering Thailand your entry stamp, which states the date that you must leave will be 180 days from entry date. If you entered without a visa or normal tourist visa, this stamp would show the date you need to leave being in sixty days.
