Looking for some advice, I'm over 50 and want stay here for 6months. I have a bank account, kind of with bbk, it'frozen at the moment I was thinking to get any retirement Visa. They say , if I put eight hundred thousand bat , and they'll freeze it for 3 months and give me the certificate right away is a retirement visa the best 6 months stay. I did do a border bounce last year. Looks like things are getting a little tighter. I wish there was a 6 month Visa here.

Hi guys, it’s been 7 working days since I submitted my extra requested documents , I applied on the 1st December originally from London, I should imagine they are super busy but how long should it take to find out if I’ve been approved or not?

Hey everyone 👋

I posted a few questions here quite a while ago. As it usually goes in groups like this: I got a lot of genuinely helpful and solid replies — and of course a few… very confident ones 😉

Overall though: great group, thanks a lot, especially to those who also reached out privately with useful tips.

That’s why I’m posting this not anonymously. If anyone has follow-up questions, feel free to message me privately — just like I did back then. I didn’t follow every single suggestion, but I did apply several of them.

Quick update on the visa process, as this seems to be relevant for many:

I submitted my application in Hanoi on Thursday at noon and received the approval email about two hours ago.

👉 Thai E-Visa DTV approved.

Important detail: no follow-up questions at all. No additional documents, no back and forth.

The status already changed to “Pending Approval” on Friday, and after that it simply went through.

Timeline wise:

Thursday submission → Friday working day → Monday working day → approved today.

Whether you count Thursday or not — in total it was around 4 working days in Hanoi.

Honestly: super smooth and very easy process.

For full transparency — before any unnecessary comments come up 😉

I did this through an agency.

Total cost: around €500, including visa + agency fee. That’s it.

Four working days later, DTV approved.

Of course, everyone can (and should) decide for themselves whether they want to do everything on their own.

For me personally, those few hundred euros were 100% worth it — saving time, stress, and potentially extra days in the country.

Hope this helps someone 🙌

Hi guys, I’ve bit of an ignorant question for you experts 😇

I’m here on a 60 day tourist evisa with multiple entry. It expires on 26.12.

I wish to fly to Laos this weekend, then fly back to Thailand a few days later.

I’ve a clean normal tourist passport not multiple stamped etc.

When I arrive back at BKK immigration to be stamped back in will they automatically extend my stay by 30 days ( the maximum) or do I need to negotiate this at that point?

Thanks in advance 🙏🏻

Hi everyone,

my girlfriend plans to apply for the Thailand DTV Workcation Visa at the Thai Embassy in Frankfurt at the end of December and we have a quick question.

* She is self-employed since May this year

* €2,000–2,500 average monthly income since May

* 500,000 THB in savings for over 3 months

* Tax returns for 2023 & 2024, but from working-student employment (self-employment started only in May)

We’ve heard that the Frankfurt embassy often asks for tax returns from previous years.

👉 How does the embassy usually handle cases where the applicant has only recently become self-employed?

👉 Is it a problem if older tax returns are not from self-employment?

Thanks a lot for any recent experiences! 🙏

I made my request 2 times for DTV with a muy Thai school, the first request to Ho Chi Minh was refused (I had returned to Thailand before the answer I did not know...). But I remade my application in Hanoi a few days ago, I have absolutely all the necessary documents and amount, but they still refused....without any explanation... I don't know what to do it's a lot of money for nothing. Do you have any advice?
