I am an American citizen that holds a retirement visa in Thailand. My visa was issued from one of the immigration offices in Chiang Mai.

Do I have to renew it from this same office in CM or can I renew from another office?

I ask because my wife and I would like to visit some of the beaches around the time I will need to renew.

I'm not sure what information to put when filing out the online form for a DTV. It's asking the dates I'm going/coming, what flights, place I'm staying with contact information. I haven't booked anything because I don't know if my visa will be approved and was going to wait until after I get my visa. Please advise.

I'm a airline pilot for a US Company holding a US Passport and i get 10 days off a month which i want to spend in Thailand could this be possible on a tourist visa/visa exemption entry. It would be monthly entry but short stays.

Which embassy (other than Vietnam) in SEA is currently best for dtv approval for remote work? less complications, higher chances of approval, quick process and accepts 3 months Bank statement?

I couldn’t find many older posts about this, so I wanted to ask:

Has anyone here applied for a DTV visa through the Thai Embassy / Consulate in Ankara, Turkey?

How long did the process take in your experience?

And overall, did you have a positive impression of the consulate and the way they handled the application?

For husband and wife ( both above 50 )applying for retirement visa. Do we have to deposit 800k each in the bank account or 800 k in total ?

I thought I just take a look at my passport I came last year in January 2025 on a new passport visa exemption 60 days got a 30 day extension but there isn’t a stamp for the departure? I’ve looked at a old passport 2024 these where stamped up with the departure date UK passport is there a way to correct this I haven’t booked any tickets yet and haven’t travelled again since that date

You may have read my previous post about entry into Thailand. So now had time to process and visit immigration.

Next move.

The IO at the airport said get a wife visa which I believe is an O visa. This is problematic as I will not have 800,000 in for two months, more like two weeks.

The IO at my local office confirmed this but mentioned 400,000 but think this is an O-A visa which I do not want.

Now the METV. This would be perfect and I can meet all the requirements. I guess I would need to leave Thailand to apply. But would having a Thai wife prevent this.?

Basically an METV would allow me to leave and renter Thailand to give me 150 days I need

To apply for an METV, if required to leave Thailand, would Vietnam be OK.

Finally thoughts on visiting a visa agent. Would it help.

I have a TDAC question. A mate (British passport) is arriving on Friday from Shri Lanka changing planes in KL. He seems to have conflicting info on the TDAC and would appreciate clarification whether he should show Shri Lanka or KL as departure point for his arrival flight. I believe he is changing airlines in KL. TIA
