What is the process and timeline for obtaining a Thai E-Visa DTV through an agency in Vietnam?

Hey everyone 👋

I posted a few questions here quite a while ago. As it usually goes in groups like this: I got a lot of genuinely helpful and solid replies — and of course a few… very confident ones 😉

Overall though: great group, thanks a lot, especially to those who also reached out privately with useful tips.

That’s why I’m posting this not anonymously. If anyone has follow-up questions, feel free to message me privately — just like I did back then. I didn’t follow every single suggestion, but I did apply several of them.

Quick update on the visa process, as this seems to be relevant for many:

I submitted my application in Hanoi on Thursday at noon and received the approval email about two hours ago.

👉 Thai E-Visa DTV approved.

Important detail: no follow-up questions at all. No additional documents, no back and forth.

The status already changed to “Pending Approval” on Friday, and after that it simply went through.

Timeline wise:

Thursday submission → Friday working day → Monday working day → approved today.

Whether you count Thursday or not — in total it was around 4 working days in Hanoi.

Honestly: super smooth and very easy process.

For full transparency — before any unnecessary comments come up 😉

I did this through an agency.

Total cost: around €500, including visa + agency fee. That’s it.

Four working days later, DTV approved.

Of course, everyone can (and should) decide for themselves whether they want to do everything on their own.

For me personally, those few hundred euros were 100% worth it — saving time, stress, and potentially extra days in the country.

Hope this helps someone 🙌

I actually didn’t plan to share this publicly here, because I’ve seen others do it and then constantly get comments like “you work for them anyway” or similar nonsense.

So just to be very clear upfront: I have absolutely nothing to do with this agency. I run my own business in Dubai and have no affiliation with them whatsoever.

That said, I’m honestly very happy and can recommend it from the bottom of my heart, simply because everything worked extremely well for me.

I already mentioned it above, but to repeat it clearly:

I paid 500 EUR / 18,500 THB – all in. Visa, government fees, agency fees – everything included.

I did not pay a single cent more.

And the visa is now approved.

I’ve also seen some people being very skeptical, which I can understand. What I heard locally (here in PhuQuok) is that these agencies might have slightly smoother processes because applications are pre-checked before submission and the authorities know the documents are properly prepared.

Whether that’s actually true or not, I honestly can’t confirm — that’s just what I was told.

What I can say for sure is this:

I read in this group all the time how long people are waiting for their DTV visa and how many follow-up questions they receive. I had none of that.

My process was very fast, and I’m already flying back this Friday, as we’re staying here a bit longer for vacation.

I did everything through an app that was also recommended to me: ISA Compass.

I’m sharing my referral link here as well — you’ll get a discount if you use it.

Whether I personally receive anything from it, I honestly don’t know. Maybe yes, maybe no.

Either way, it really doesn’t matter to me — you get the discount, that’s the important part.

If you have any questions, feel free to reach out. I’ll try to answer as many as I can, although I’m already getting quite a lot of private messages.

At the end of the day, I genuinely believe that if you follow the rules and submit everything properly, this process shouldn’t be a problem for anyone.

Wishing everyone good luck with their application 🙌

Thank You for your helpful report 👍

Congratulations 👏👏👏

PRINT OUT THE EMAIL THAT HAS YOUR DTV VISA.

That's what you should do... print it out.

You may have to show PROOF of your DTV Visa to airline staff on check-in for your flight ✈️ to Thailand...even to the connecting airline staff. Or to the land border crossing entry Thai Immigration Officer.

Upon arrival into Thailand, show the DTV visa to the Thai Immigration Officer and look at the STAMP placed in your passport to be sure you are STAMPED in for 180 days.

Hey, thanks a lot, appreciate it 😊

How certain are you about printing it out? A few friends and people I know also have the DTV visa, and they usually just show a screenshot with the QR code, which has always been accepted by immigration. They then stamp “DTV” and the 180-day date in the passport.

Printing it wouldn’t be a problem in general — I just know myself and would probably manage to lose it sooner or later 😄

I did see in one of your photos that you laminated it and put it in your passport though, which I think is a really smart idea.

Do you know anyone who has successfully shown it just as a photo or screenshot? I’m a bit unsure because even with police checks, my international driver’s license has always been accepted via photo without any discussion. I’m planning to get a Thai driver’s license anyway, but so far that’s always worked perfectly.

The PDF of the DTV visa you receive in the email should be printed out and saved. It's valid for 5 years of entries into Thailand.

It's also been helpful to those who have lost their passport.

I'm aware of today's tech driven scene. But handing your passport with a copy of the DTV visa is helpful both to you and the Thai Immigration officer.

The laminated DTV visa copy - reduction in size and placed in the passport has been well received by the Thai Immigration officers too.
