 No it didn't get lost in translation. They explicit said not more than 5 and a half month in each calendar year. They even calculated the time when he has to leave the country. He had to buy a return ticket after 6 months. So in april he has to leave.

 He said already the location where he originally opened the account is 1000km away from where he is now. Most likely they would not ask for many documents at the branch he opened the account

 yes it might is possible at some other branches. But it can be very complicated. That's why before opening account need to consider what branch to take so it's not too big of a hassle going back there in an emergency

 actually you gave yourself the answer already. You need to go to the branch you opened the account. Even if it is 1000kms away.
