You can come and go by air as you please as long as you don't appear to be living long term in thailand. So you can do visa exception, leave when you need to, stay 10 to 30 days in another country and Thailand will welcome you back. (Try to spend less than six months in the year in Thailand.

You pay another 10,000 baht to come back for another 180 in the same year. You must prove you have 500,000 baht in a bank somewhere in the world and have a freelance job with proof of work somehow

Put a few other countries stamps in your passport, cheap like Malaysia, or Indonesia to make you look like a tourist. Once in a while I forget that it's in my pocket and I accidentally put it in the washing machine, which has caused me to discover that many countries stamps aren't waterproof

If you do too many back to back tourist visa they will simply not issue you another.

If you've never been here, come for 4 months on visa exception find a girlfriend and travel around to nearby countries. Now is the time to decide if you will be bored here

It's really up to how well trained the airline check in clerk is. If their trained in overseas travel and they see your on a one way, they will ask about onward travel after visa exception days.

As long as you visit 1 or two countries for a week or two between leaving and entering Thailand you are a regular tourist and they will love you in Thailand (up to 6 months a year). You can always do the border run instead of flying, there iare many tour buses in the Nana, asok, or on-nut area that drive to the Cambodia border (4 hours each way) so you can walk across and back with the proper stamps.

They are simply looking for evidence that it's a real stamp, since it's not in their computer, so it will need to be overidden by the supervisor to let you exit

only the supervisor can override the system to stamp you out when they can't see an extension in the computer. If you use the e-extension it will be a sticker in the passport, but not in their computer.

You should visit for a summer with nothing more than a visa exception for 30 days, extend for 30 in Thailand or go visit Malaysia. Make sure you won't get bored.
