Is there a designated pick-up spot for Grab taxis at the arrival terminal? Regular taxis often charge extra for luggage and don't provide receipts.

TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, there is a designated pickup spot for Grab taxis at Suvarnabhumi Airport. After exiting the arrival hall, travelers should head to the outer lane, while the inner lane is reserved for airport limousines. Recent changes might require riders to go to the Grab office where pickup spots for drivers are assigned. Additionally, some users suggest using alternative apps like Bolt or InDrive for potentially lower fares and more convenient pickup options.

Charge extra for luggage... Don't fall for that. It's all going the same direction...

I arrive with two large suitcases and a handcarry, going by Taxi-Meter I have never been charged extra for my luggage
is correct. The 20฿ per bag charge is usually over their 2 bag limit.

Get the Bolt app and try them as cheaper than taxis as only cost me around $300 Baht from My hotel to the airport and more reliable

Weird. They never charged me anything extra.
You just go on arrival floor and as soon as they drop arrival passengers you jump in taxi and they take you on meter wherever you want. Usually 30% cheper than Grab or Bolt
lol yes, departure floor. I meant as new passengers arrive at airport you just jump in in same taxi they arrive.
Driver will be happy as he get a ride immediately

No need for grab car at suvambi,, there's a whole row of taxis waiting for you. Check what you should be paying in the grab app and use that to make an offer to the taxi driver

If you use Bolt or InDrive, you don't have to go to the Grab pickup spot and you just tell the driver which terminal door you are at and they come to you. Just did it yesterday. Also Bolt and InDrive are often far cheaper than Grab so no idea why people keep using Grab. My ride from the airport was quoted at 565 baht in Grab, 264 baht in Bolt, and 299 baht in InDrive.

Grab pick up is on the outer lane once you exit the arrival hall.
The inner lane is for airport limousine. Cross to the outer lane, that's where Grab or personal pick up is located. Grab pick up will list several exit. Ensure you select and wait by the correct exit door.
great if alone and no luggage other wise it's 2 trains and even then maybe a long walk or taxi to the hotel. Personally never do it again. Rather a taxi door to door. Also trains don't run all night
Also if you arrive at night, you just want to get quickly to your hotel. I would only take the train in the daytime or if I was taking only one train to my hotel. I have never been charged for luggage and never been cheated by a taxi driver.
Agree with you on that. Last thing I want to do after arrival is catch trains then walk to my condo. Plus the clowns did not do an interchange onto the yellow line you have to walk about 10 minutes to get to yellow line. Taxi easier :)
nope I never get stuck in traffic and if I did I can Sit and relax in air conditioning taxi rather than sweat and drag luggage up and down platforms and then down a Soi. Door to door for me. Trains stop at midnight so also not suitable for me and many others
I would do that in case I have nothing to carry and if my hotel is near to one of the train stations.

Yes, i arrived a couple of nights ago.. ordered a Grabcar on the app, but the line at the pickup spot was a total cluster, and the driver was over 15 min away so i just canceled and got an airport taxi instead.. but on the upside, my flight arrived at midnight and there was NO line at Immigration, literally walked right up and breezed through .
yes it’s right next to where the airport taxis are lined up, ground floor, exit 4.. if you order a Grabcar on the app it will then tell you to go to that exact location .. if you decide to take Grabcar from the airport, i hope you have better luck than i did .
Airport taxi driver ignored the ticket i handed him and offered to take me to my hotel, near Suk Rd and Soi 24, for 700 baht.. i said id like to go according to the meter.. then he said ok, but id be responsible for extra tolls and other charges he listed off.. i said then ill go with you for 600 baht, and he agreed.. maybe i got overcharged, but 600 baht was almost exactly the same amount Grabcar was charging, so i was ok with it, and was too tired to argue or to report him .
a new article every couple of weeks about taxis not following the rules at the airport. They can actually get into a lot of trouble for that because of how regulated the airport is.
Of course they can get in trouble for not using the meter anywhere, but especially so at the airport. But no one ever reports them so nothing happens and they're free to continue.
I get it, everyone is probably too exhausted after their 27 hr flight, as i was, to do anything about it so it continues .. at least i was able to negotiate with him a bit, ha .
