I went in on a volunteer Visa/ 90 Non Immigrant O. They are able to change them to work Visa. The consulate told me what to do.

I would be scared to overstay. I'm an American and do not mess with their system because I like to travel in and out of Thailand. If you are about to overstay and feel nervous about this, you could take a ferry to Langkawi, Malaysia and come back into Thailand and get another 30 days just in case. It's cheap by land.

Kerri Anne Bennington Kerri. I had the Hong Kong consulate ask me why I wanted a tourist Visa (lol). I said, because I am on vacation and meeting up with friends in Phuket. They sometimes want to make sure you are not working or going to extend your stay because of work. I feel that was more of the concern with me.

In my experience, this applies more to hotels by airports. I spoke to a lady who ran a hotel near Don Muang. If there is an extended stay she reports it.

Yes. I just did this. I went to Penang Malaysia. There is a consulate there. And Penang is an island, so it's beautiful. Stay a few days, explore the islands and get your Visa! Then come back to Thailand. But....You as a Canadian can also get a 30 days stamp again and then extend it.

You cannot get a Thai Visa in Thailand. You can get a 30 exempt stamp and stay for 30 days and then extend it for 1900 Bhat. That would be your 60 days.
