it’s not permanent. It should ease up in a few weeks. And yes, that is the concern right now. It’s a real and serious problem. All brought on by banks allowing the money laundering to happen in the first place.
at this time is not true. The Thai government has Thai banks scared. They are not allowing foreigners to open accounts even with Non-O status. It’s been widely published. Even popular agents are saying they can’t do it.
With Thailand cracking down on money laundering, banks are running scared. The result is they don’t wanna all “any” foreigner opening a bank account. It’s all BS, but I think it will ease up in a few weeks. All these so called “tourists” getting bank accounts doesn’t help. And that’s on the banks.
As I stated before, it’s not the Thai government stopping you from getting a bank account. Thai banks are scared and that’s why they aren’t letting foreigners open accounts.
