Im confused. I have Google maps already. I'm in my car so there is no WIFI. I'm being charged expensive roaming charges because I'm outside my network's coverage area.

Do I need a Thai sim card for that. Which is no big deal. Everyone uses FB messenger to converse and text to, from and in Thailand

The only problem is if you have a US number and phone plan only, Roaming becomes expensive with Google maps if you decide to drive. To the tune of $100+ a month.
