no you can’t travel because then you will have to travel every renewal and every time you need a residency certificate.

Apply with a competent, experienced local agent where you live.

If you don’t know one, ask around or sit outside immigration.

Be careful of begpackers who recommend dodgy agents just for a commission.

dumb waste of money. They will just sub the work out to an agent or an intern.

yes, but he will have to leave Thailand to convert to a non-o… and what if he can’t get insurance from one of the 14 Thai companies due to overweight or pre existing conditions? Then he is screwed. Not to mention the mandatory police background checks and elephantitus certifications.

Non O visa is a much better option.

Bank account is not a big deal and an agent is not mandatory at all unless your time is extremely valuable. Navigating the bureaucracy is a good way to start learning about how things work.

I’m not believing that unless they failed to provide required documentation.

a U.S. citizen is a U.S. citizen, wherever they are born. Your fears are not reality based.

You seem to have two different issues. Probably better to put each in a separate post.

Re:
@Thai****
You are missing some important information we need to assist you.

First, how old are you and your daughter?

Second, what type of Non-O visa are you applying for?

Third, I'm quite certain the immigration official told you the reason your application was insufficient. What was the reason? Was it insufficient proof of supporting a Thai Child?

Fourth, are you listed as the father on the child's birth certificate?

Fifth, what is your current visa status, and what country are you in currently?

Sixth, what is your visa history in Thailand?

Your Thai Non O visa application issue can be resolved quite easily and relatively inexpensively with a good agent.

Re: Thai Girlfriend Visa to US Denied

This has been discussed many times here.

Please search the forum for suggestions.

In summary, you will have to prove the girlfriend has sufficient ties to Thailand to guarantee her return to her country.

Any information that might show that she has incentive to stay in America should be minimized. A fiancée or marriage visa might be an option.

Good luck.

I myself would consult with an experienced, competent, local lawyer to ensure your interests are protected, that you aren’t being scammed, that you meet all the requirements to use the money for the intended purpose, and that you can eventually repatriate the money if you desire.

A bank wire or cashiers check is definitely the way to go.

You also may be able to negotiate with the receiving bank for a few extra points off the exchange rate.
