not at state hospitals and in emergencies. Many youngsters come here, rent a scooter and drive without a helmet. Next thing they are involved in an accident and ends up in hospital. Most do not have health cover and the Thais end up paying. The last figure I saw was around B 8 billion a year (pre covid). Many times in the past the Thai government tried to introduce health cover for tourist but never did.
I live in Thailand a long time and have seen so many people getting hurt badly without health cover. They end up running fund me pages or leaves the country owing the hospital money. I think it is your responsibility not to be a drain on the Thai health system and should have cover Covid or not.
thanks. Just to be clear if you have an embassy letter you do not need to show a bank statement reflecting the international transfers? My problem is that due to foreign exchange laws changing I can no longer do transfers without being in my home country. I can draw the money at an ATM and deposit into my Thai account but not transfers.
