If a UK husband and wife wants to stay 6 months per year in Thailand without the hassles of border runs etc, can they obtain a non imm O A based on over 50 years in their home country and instead of getting an extension, they reapply each year for a new visa. The reason being that they will not be in Thailand to do the extension as well as the problem of showing B 65 k x 2 people x 12 months, while only staying here for 6 months.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A UK couple over 50 can apply for a Non-Immigrant O-A visa to stay in Thailand for up to 6 months a year without the need for extensions. They can reapply every year for a new visa, which avoids the hassle of border runs. However, they must meet the financial requirements of showing an income of 65,000 THB per person for 12 months, but since they only stay for 6 months, planning accordingly with financial proof will be essential.
