I know, I'm sorry but I have 2 Qs in one day 🤷🏽

I'm diagnosed with Obstructive Speep Apnea and was prescribed to use a C-PAP mask every night. I was required to report this to the UK driving licensing authority, and give an undertaking to use the mask as prescribed. On this basis there were no concerns about me continuing to hold a licence and drive, over a period of more than 15 years now.

Does anyone have experience of reporting OSA on the medical cert when applying for a Thai driving licence? What was the outcome, please?

Thanks.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The process for obtaining a medical certificate for a Thai driving license is generally straightforward and quick. Reports suggest that the medical exam is minimal, often requiring only a blood pressure check and a basic assessment of the individual's general health. Most clinics charge around 100-200 baht for this service. There seems to be little concern regarding the notification of Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) to Thai authorities, with anecdotal experiences indicating that the medical staff may not fully understand or inquire about such conditions, focusing instead on issuing a medical certificate to cover their responsibilities.

There is a good chance they do not know what you are talking about and much less for them to ever find out.

Just as Stuart said, at the clinic they check you still have a pulse and blood pressure for ~100 THB. All they want is a CYA doc. Good luck.

My partner got mine for me at 100 baht. Signed by doctor and she was asked that I complete the form at home. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

The medical exam for a Thai driving license takes around 60 seconds. They generally do a blood pressure check and if you are still breathing by the end of that then they’ll issue the certificate. Most places cost around 100-200 baht.

True. They asked me a few questions about health, any surgery and meds I take. They didn't write any of that down on the form.

And I was honest. There is no way for them to know if you omit info.
