Hi. Asking for an elderly relative. How many times can she renew a 1 month tourist visa? (She’s hoping indefinitely).

TLDR : Answer Summary
In Thailand, a 1-month tourist visa cannot be renewed indefinitely. Tourists typically receive a 60-day entry stamp that can be extended once for an additional 30 days. After this extension, the individual must leave the country. While border bounces (exiting and re-entering Thailand for a new entry stamp) are possible, there is no official limit on how often this can be done; it ultimately depends on the discretion of the immigration officer. However, repeated re-entries may raise concerns about the person's intent, particularly if they are not behaving like a typical tourist. For prolonged stays, alternatives such as a retirement visa might be advisable.

There's a clue in the name, it's a TOURIST visa. Although Canadians get 60 days entry stamp without visa, and can extend by 30 days more. You can then exit and re-enter (border bounce) but it adds to the possibility of being refused entry because she is not acting like a tourist. Tourists come for visits then go home
Tourist visas are for 60 days and can be extended once at an immigration office to give an additional 30 days then you have to leave the country. Also applies to visa exempt entries. It's not possible to live inside Thailand on tourist or visa exempt entries. If that's what you want to achieve then you need to look at an appropriate visa to do this
You can’t renew a tourist visa. With one you’d get 60 days on entry.
Most nationalities can extend that once for 30 days.
I suspect you may be referring to border bounces where you briefly leave Thailand and return for a fresh entry stamp.
If so the answer is that there is no official limit. It’s up to the immigration officer to decide if they will let you in.
They are getting tougher on these so if your relative wants to do this then probably best to use an experienced border bounce company as they generally ensure you can get back in.
