Is 70,000 Baht a fair price for a retirement visa agent in Thailand?

I got a quote from an agent of 70,000 Baht to help me with the retirement visa process. Is this a fair price? Could anybody recommend a trusted agent if this quote is too high? Seems a bit high but I have no idea if I’m right. Thanking you in advance!

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user inquired whether a quote of 70,000 Baht from an agent for retirement visa assistance is fair. Multiple comments indicated that this amount is excessive, with recommendations suggesting that standard service fees range from 20,000 to 40,000 Baht. Many users advised that if one can provide the necessary documentation (like the required 800,000 Baht in a Thai bank account), the process can be done independently with minimal costs, often just the administrative fee of 1,900 Baht. Several trusted agencies were suggested, including Thai Visa Centre and noted experiences of successful independent applications.

I too am applying for the LTRV visa. But my lawyers are only charging me 7,500 baht. That's way too much. Also and I don't know if anyone can comment on this on the LTRV :Required documents for Qualification Endorsement for LTRV: Wealthy Pensioners it makes no reference to an 800k deposit as a needed requirement yet when you Google it it says quite clearly that an 800k deposit is needed on an account in your name for two months. Can anyone shed any light on this? Thanks 😊

too much.

You wrote that you have everything.

Bank statement with 65k monthly over a year or 800k over 2-3 months?

Bank certification?

Passport?

Passport pic?

That should be all as far as I remember.

Takes 15-30 minutes plus waiting time at the immigration.

Pay 1900 and you’re good. If you leave the country more than 3 times per year, get a multiple reentry for 3800.

Otherwise you can get it every time you leave for 1000 at the airports.

oh! And I wouldn’t let them fake the money (if it’s even possible right now). You won’t have proof of your own money in the future. So you’re stuck with bribing forever.

Tell him that you have now another 3 friends coming to Thailand and that they need the Visa, too. But he must give you all a discount. He will give you and you ask for the time to talk with your friends. And do not call him anymore. If he will call you tell him that you are waiting their answer and you will call him back ( thai way to send you to hell ). Do not call him. Which visa r u after.I did it myself. If it's a retirement visa apply for non o in your own country. This gives you 90 days. With non o you can open a Thai bank account.Deposit 800k in account after 2 months go to immigration and apply for extension for 1 year. This is assuming you're after retirement.

You will need a letter from bank confirming your account and an update statement on the day you go to immigration. It sounds a bit complicated but it's not really.Just answer the questions on the form.If I can do it ,anyone can.

The price is higher if you need same-day processing for the 3-month plus 1-year extension.

There are more affordable options if you are okay with slower processing times.

If you already have all your requirements in order, this group can guide you through the process so you can do it on your own without any issues.

However, if you prefer to use an agency, feel free to contact us via Line or email.

It's around ฿30k in Pattaya (cheaper than that if you have your own finances) for the initial 90 day non o visa, plus the 12 months extension of stay based on retirement, it's around another ฿1000 to ฿4000 if you want a single or multiple re-entry permit, they usually ask you to start the process a month before your current stamp expires (it's easier to just stay in Pattaya for one month until the process is complete) that's when doing it the first time, if you can meet the financial requirements, try and do it yourself, just get a list of requirements, for the initial non O and 12 month extension based on retirement from immigration, visit 30 to 45 days before your current stamp expires, don't pay ฿70k that is way to expensive.

I assume you mean 90 day updates?

Still expensive compared to other agencies that charge 30k.

International driving permit for motorcycle, car, and truck cost 3k baht (and you can use it or change it to a Thai driver license for a few 100 baht).
Chris **********
I came in on a tourist stamp 30 day. My first Non O Visa had a 15 months expiry date this because I got a 90 day extension before the 12 month non O Visa. This is how it was done for me when I first got the Non O Visa. Now Non O visa renewal is 12 months each time. When I got the first non o visa I also got a Thai car and Motor bike license, a bank account and a multiple entry permit and they due 90 day check-ins for me all for the 50k I mentioned originally. For me this a good way to go because I don't want to stand in line ups wondering if all my ducks are in a row. The agent does everything for me. I only hand my passport to him for renewal once per year and pick it up when he has completed with immigration for me.

This kind of money suggests you do not meet the requirements and you need a agent to fix it.

For someone to hole 800k equivalent, That’s 64,000 baht per year. Tax withholding is 10%. Net gain every year 57,600. Agent renewals are

leaving 41,600 in the account every single year. And all you have to do is give your passport to your agent and head to the beach. No forms to fill out. No standing in line at bank trying to communicate and get the annual paperwork. No waiting at immigration every year.

It’s a pretty reasonable way to go. If you can’t afford an agent, DIY will waste a day every year, but only costs 1900

it is a very easy process. Each immigration office ask for slightly different things, but this is roughly it. One form to complete that asks questions like; date you arrived in Thailand and passport number etc.

You need lots of photocopies of everything.

A lease contract for a minimum of 6 months (I think this varies between offices) and a hand drawn map of the location. Some passport sized photos. Information from your bank (they know what is required). A payment of 1,900 baht.

It has taken me less than an hour each time to get my visa and then extensions each year 3 times, so it definitely is not worth paying an agent.
Ruud ******************
