I got mine at the L.A. Consulate in the US. You submit documents one day and get the visa the next day. You want to get your medical form and criminal background check done first and the background check took a week to get the results. There should be a list of other documents at the website for your Consulate.

Your husband would apply for an O-A visa in Canada after he turns 50. I'm not sure what you can do. I'll let the moderators tackle that one. Maybe there is some sort of marriage or dependent visa.

What police report is needed for a Non-Immigrant Type O-A visa application at the Los Angeles Thai Consulate?

I got my O-A from LA two years ago. I went to a UPS store. They took my finger prints. I filled in a form. The results were sent to me a week later. I don’t remember the name of the service or what databases they used. I just know that the Thai Consulate accepted it. It was a very unimpressive document.

Can I apply for a Non Immigrant O-A visa in person in New York if I reside in California?

I got mine at the LA Consulate in 2017. I’m from El Cerrito. I flew down there. Rented a car. Stayed in a hotel walking distance from the Consulate. I spent the two days doing some sightseeing. Paramount studios is in the neighborhood. Take the tour.

Last year I started transferring money every other month to halve my fees. I wouldn’t meet the monthly income requirements even though I’m transferring more than enough money. Fortunately I’m using the banked money method.

It may only be four embassies that have stopped giving the affidavits but the US and Great Britain represent a sizable portion of the western expats. I guess we are just waiting to hear about people’s experiences.

How does subletting my apartment and staying in resorts affect my 90-day reporting in Thailand?

Twice I stayed in cheap seedy resorts that didn’t require any paperwork at all. Believe me. It’s not worth staying in these places.

I applied for my police report at a UPS office. They take a fingerprint and submit the form. The results are mailed directly to you. This was in California. I found it using Google so there may be other businesses providing this service.

They probably just want your last US address. I am using my sister’s address as a US address so if was doing a police report I would include that address.

Even though I return to the US yearly, I don’t want to spend that time working on a visa application. Getting a 1 year extension was easy. However you have to accept the financial requirements.
