If you qualify the retirement visa Type O would be your best option. An O Visa you apply in Thailand and an OA Visa you apply at a Thai embassy in the country where you live. With a OA visa you need to provide proof of medical insurance. At the present time this is not a problem because you need the COVID insurance. Once in Thailand go to a Visa company and they will look after everything for you. But this will cost you between 25,000 to 30,000 BHT The renewals after you can do on your own for 1,900 BHT with either money in a Thai bank or proof of income from home.
The original expiry date stays the same. You will still need to renew your visa before Nov 5, 2021. Then your option to renew with or without multi entry
Before you leave Thailand go to Immigration Office and it cost 1,000 BHT to get a reentry permit. You can also get this permit at the airport but will take longer. You can also have a multi entry permit which cost 4,000 BHT for unlimited in and out. If you do not have either one your retirement visit is finished and you have to start the process all over again
The other solution once in Thailand go to a Company that looks after Visas and other related items. They will charge over 25,000 BHT but you will get your retirement O Visa. Once in Thailand you can open a bank account and deposit the necessary funds or provide proof of income from your country. The funds have to be in your account 2 months before and three months after your visa is issued or renewed. Then the balance cannot go below 400,000 BHT. When you renew your visa you are required to give copies of you bank book for the last 12 months. If you renew by yourself it cost 1,900 BHT. Or using an agency for a lot more.
The best advise and don’t listen to people’s comments
iGo contact a lawyer and or the bank for advice and possible options. Next time do not get involved in an arrangement like this unless you are married.
