TLDR : Answer Summary
To apply for a Certificate of Entry (COE) for Thailand, you must have already purchased insurance. Various comments confirm that having insurance is a requirement before your application can be processed. You also need to provide other documents such as a passport copy, visa, ASQ hotel confirmation, flight details, a Fit to Fly certificate, and a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours of travel.

i don't have a visa

to get the visa you have to send your passport to the embassy. The CoE is done electronically.

Unless of course you are wanting to enter on a visa exemption basis.

i want to stay for 60 days and intend to get married and change over to married visa, will that work?
Stuart *********
@Jim *********
a tourist visa will give you 60 days and the option to extend for a further 30 days in country. A visa exempt entry will give you 45 (normally 30 but they take in to account the 16 days for quarantine). Also extendable for 30 days in country. Once you are married you can apply for a visit family extension for another 60 days with no financial requirements. Or if you have the 400,000 baht in a Thai bank you can apply for the Non O visa/extension based on marriage.

can i ask one more question, do you have to send passport to embassy or is it all done online?
Kathy ****************
Good luck...

@J**
in the US we had to do everything online once they approved that they requested you send passport, ASQ, Airline info and all other hard copies.. Usually means it is approved once you send paperwork ( we had to include a Next Day Air paid envelope inside of the package with our other things so that they can mail you back your passport).. You will then get your passport back with your Visa info that you will apply for your COE..
Stuart *********
It’s a requirement to get the CoE that you have already purchased insurance.
