TM 30 query.

I just did my TM 47 ( 90 day notification) today. I have a retirement visa for the past 7 years. This is my 3rd time doing a TM 47 coz i always travel in and out of Thailand.

The immigration officer asked for my TM30. Actually, this is the first time i was asked about TM30. Anyway, she said it is required everytime you re enter Thailand. Please let me know what is the easiest way to comply with this.

This is my first time to encounter TM30. I stay in a condo i owned for the past 20 years.

Thanks for the help.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The TM30 is a requirement that must be filed within 24 hours of a foreigner arriving at their residence in Thailand, including upon re-entry. The user recently learned of this requirement while completing their TM47 for a retirement visa, which they had not encountered in the past despite owning a condo for 20 years. Comments suggest several ways to comply with the TM30, including visiting a hotel for a night, seeking assistance from the condo's office, or using online options. Some users note variations in TM30 enforcement, with suggestions to check for compliance from landlords or local authorities. The discussion highlights the lack of user-friendly processes in the TM30 online application system.

I wonder why i wasn't asked of this in my almost 20 years in this condo. Maybe because i usually go out monthly?

my question was in relation to this post on TM 30 for TM 47.. and your comment was" rules are changing.. - so i was expecting an answer on that " what is changing? My owner says if you dont stay 90 days, then no TM30.

there have been no recent rule changes to TM30s or 90 day reporting (except for a shortening of the online reporting window)

I don’t understand why they would be asking you for your TM 30 at immigrations upon entry into Thailand because it’s required to be filed within 24 hours of your arrival at your hotel or residence.
Graham ******
@Wayne *******
the OP was doing a 90 day report ;)

Hi , I travel to Thailand in November and stay for 68 days what’s the best visa to apply for and do you need to do anything if you want to stay for 60 days and then do a border run .
Graham ******
@Peter *******
You don't give your passport nationality so nobody can comment on visas but if you want to stay 68days don't leave your border run as late as the 60th day or expect to be at least questioned on re-entry

In Chiang rai province, do tm30 one time when you move into a residence, then no need to do again unless you change address, even when you travel overseas
Geoff ********
Landlords requirement to lodge it but you should remind, encourage or even help them

If you live in a condo, there is probably a office there. They will do the TM30 for a few baht. Or just bring your blue book and passport to immigration and do it yourself.

what's a blue book?

If you owe your own condo, you get a blue book from land office, to proof of ownership togheter with the deed.

Easiest way is to go to a hotel for 1 night

You go online to the TM30 Notification of Foreigner In Residence program (which you can get to from the main immigration page;
******************************

You make a log in, profile, then add an address to it, THEN you can file a TM30 on someone at that address, save the data and then retrieve it to print the PDF that is the TM30 receipt

You want this choice from the main immigration link

if you have done as todd advised i recommend you to download an excel-file from that website (there is a download-button), filll that excel-sheet and save it on your computer. every time you do a tm30 again, you just upload the file, put in the correct notification date on the right top in the website and save. done, 1 minute job and you avoid typing all information like name and passportnumber etc. every time. i agree what todd mentioned, not a user friendly system ... but the excel luckily works
Ellie *******
@Manny ********
, Go to the system and read well the user manual from the link at the bottom of the login window.
Tod *********
Make sure you read the user guide to understand the steps if you're going to use the system it is NOT a 'foreign user friendly' program

this is what the PDF file you can download from the system looks like
