if the Child not a Thai citizen, then yes. And a family insurance is cheap. I pay 33€ for 56 Days for all family members

I don't think it's that bad with the Thailand passport. In any case, better than after 12 hours of flying again somewhere extra, where everything is then checked. It's much more relaxed and easier online
