Shorts that cover the knee are never frowned upon "Cargo Shorts", but others might be. Except for the king palace. Long pants or cover up is required. They sell elephant pants there 150-250 baht.
good luck with that! You are lucky if it really worked out that way, but the first day you missed would have been the right of the renter to have you thrown out.
I agree with what others say about Central Pattaya not being the nicest place for children. Almost all other locations of Thailand would be better for a long term stay with children. Cheaper to stay in a condo on the beach if you are concerned about cost. No restaurant on site but, several in short walking distance. Also, 7-11 and other small stores are everywhere and very easy to order food in from most restuarants, using online apps, for a small delivery fee. The 2+1 month fees are typical with a nice accommodation and utility hookups are usually included with electrical, water and cable and you pay a relatively small cost based on usage.
I had traveled to Asia for work and vacation many years prior to moving here. I didn't come here to get a wife or gf, but rather because I love the people and the countries in Asia far more than i love the screwed up US, so I would never consider returning to the US for more than a visit, but "put the shoe on the other foot"! Would anyone be happy living in the US on that type of income? I think not! Also, anyone here that thinks the US has more to offer should stop marrying children here and improve their income to support a wife already there. This story tries to make the girl look bad, but honestly I think she is doing the right thing to improve her standard of living and guys that do this should consider that before taking a woman to the US or any other western country.
Temporary passport / provisional passport/emergency passport of nationals exexempted from the Visa Scheme for 45 days is accepted by the Immigration Bureau in Thailand. However, the passport must have a validity of not less than six months upon returning to the residence country.
