Hello, I need to transfer 100,000 baht from my Wise Account to Bangkok bank. My wise account already has the USD funds and I only need to make the conversion and transfer from USD to Baht. I've never transferred this much at one time with Wise. But 30,000 baht transfers for me in the past transferred in seconds.

Has anyone transferred this large of an amount from a Wise USA account with USD to Bangkok bank and if so, how long did it take please? Thank you

TLDR : Answer Summary
The transfer duration for sending 100,000 baht from a Wise account to Bangkok Bank can vary. Users generally report that if the transaction exceeds 50,000 baht, it typically takes about one to two business days, with some noting they receive their funds by the next day at a specific time. Many suggest splitting the amount into smaller transactions (e.g., 49,999 baht each) to ensure faster processing, potentially receiving the money within seconds for amounts less than 50,000 baht. Wise provides an estimated transfer time when initiating the transaction.

I just transferred 400,000 and it only taken a day. It seem like it happened like my other transfers, a few seconds to next business day.

Regularly transfer much larger amounts with Wise, no problem at all. Usually in seconds, once in a while it takes longer but then they will state so in advance and you still have the option to cancel.

Large amounts tend to take about 24hrs in my experience

Ive just sent a million baht in 2 lots to Bangkok Bank and both arrived within 24 hours. This was from UK sterling though.

hi Andy, can i ask if you used your bank or wise for this transaction?. I ask as i will be transferring a similar amount shortly. In my enquiries it seems to be cheaper to use your bank than wise, but as i am a novice I would appreciate your advice.

I used Wise for the transfer. I don't have a Wise Bank Account and just use them for the transfer.

thanks Andy, much appreciated.

I also transfer 100k at a time to Kasukorn (kbank) and it arrives in seconds.

If I recall there was a limit when I opened the account but I was able to simply increase the limit from within the Kbank app

I transferred 3k USD (106k baht at the time) last week, and it took five seconds - but that was to Kasikorn, not BBL.

It will take a lot longer maybe 5 business days. Of course that's if you did the biometrics photo at Bangkok bank

you can send up to 2million baht. Arrives next day by 2pm

larger transfers now take longer than 2 business days as reported by others

@Phil *****
they may for some people.

I did the maximum. I can’t remember exactly the amount but it was 3-4 transfers to get to the million baht to buy a truck. I think in the $10,000 range. It took a couple of days.

Info note: this was 3 years ago.

baht and transaction will be in seconde.

As other people say, wise fee for making 2 or 3 transfers will be a bit bigger (like 1 or 2 dollars) so there is no reason to send it in one transfer. Better to split it into a few smaller transactions.
Mike ******
You can set a higher transfer limit but the bank will probably ask you to go in to have your picture taken before they allow the higher limit.

I send a larger amount every month to my bangkok bank account. It always arrives at 2pm the following day. Amounts less than 50,000 are usually within seconds

It usually takes two days for me if over 50k it arrives in my BB account at 2 pm the next day

you're talking 100k baht not USD right? No issues with bangkok bank, I transfer 70% of my salary each month in only 1-2 transactions. max it takes is 2 business days but usually same day on weekdays

Wise will tell you before sending your money how long it should take.

If it’s over 50,000 baht I get it the next day by 2:05 pm local time. I will send 49,000 baht if I want my money instantly.

If you select your reason for staying in Thailand is for immigration reasons it will be the next day you receive the money.

If you already did a bunch of transfers it may take a week plus to get your money.

Good answer. Thanks for that

If it says it will take "days", cancel it, then send 2 @ 30,000 & 1 @ 40,000,

Seems that sending in increments will be the best way. Just found out that

is the breaking point to go from seconds to days. Thanks for your reply

2 X 49,999 😀

Probably two days

If you transfer 1,000 dollars usually it’ll take seconds.

If you try larger amount it may take a day or so.

Nothing to stop you doing 3 x $1,000 transfers. Charges per transaction will bit a tiny bit more than doing it in one go but you’ll get the money pretty instantly.

Thanks. Good idea to split it up. Not sure if they have daily limits though. I just checked using

method and it seems that 50,000 baht is the breaking point from transferring in seconds and days. I can enter 49,000 and it will transfer in seconds. But when I enter 50k, it says days. So the big question is, if I split it up in less than 50k increments, is there a daily limit that will block me.

@Jo**
you can do up to 2m THB in a single transfer to Bangkok Bank. Over 50k if sending from Wise account it's usually next working day. Unless you need it this second there's no particular reason to break it up.

Not come across one yet. I’ve done 3 in a day before.

Bangkok Bank is one of the 3 banks that are allowed to receive over 50,000 baht transfers.

Go into the Wise App and put in the info for the transfer and it will tell you how long it will take. It will either say "seconds" or it will give a date, and then you can decide whether or not to do it.

in my experience at least, what it says and what you get can be two different things. For example, on my last transfer, it said it would take seconds. After completing it, it said a few days. It actually took longer than that.
