A work permit is transferable between employers. He should be able to do so, then go to immigration to get a new extension.

it hasn’t worked for me. keeps getting rejected.

I would apply for the visas outside Thailand, then for extensions switch to the 65k+ method so your money isn’t locked up.

Going to immigration is not fun so best to minimize having to do so by getting the “correct” visas before hand.

I think you just mean the address on the forms. Just look up a condo somewhere and put that down. They will only check this kind of thing if you apply in country because it’s not reasonable to ask for a rental agreement or something for a place you haven’t even been to yet.

Note that you will have a much easier time opening a Thai bank account with a one year OA visa than an entry stamp and you will need one so it should be one of the first things you do. Choose a branch that you expect to be convenient to visit in the future since that will happen eventually.

if she isn’t coming back then it doesn’t matter if she cancels her visa or gets a re-entry permit.

As I understand it her extension became invalid the moment her work permit was canceled so she might be on a few days overstay.

Some of the single entry TR visa requirements seem a bit strict, like needing to prebook your accommodation while in Thailand. Do they not enforce that one or something?
Ryan ********
If you get an extension of stay before you leave, make sure you get it BEFORE you get a re-entry permit.

@Michael *******
this is exactly what to do.

Also make sure to go early because it could take awhile. and let someone know what you are doing because while they probably won’t arrest you, they could.

when I have been asked by airline check in staff I say “I have a visa” and that is enough for them.

Immigration has never asked me in the dozens of times entering the country.

Sure they CAN ask. They could ask me to do a mime show. But it would be an aberration.
