Can you open a Thai bank account from the US?

Bangkok bank don't have Visa card anymore so you can't buy goods online from another country with Paypal or by using your card number direct.To open an account with another bank that has Visa you need to have a work permit or an O-A Visa. An O visa will not do it.

I downloaded the required documents from the internet and supplied 4 6in.x4in.photos ( they don't want a photo album) plus all other documents required.The process took about 15 minutes after waiting for my turn in the queue.
