As a U.S. citizen I can choose to live in all fifty states and U.S. territories, but confound it, I discovered other countries set immigration rules that serve THEIR interests and needs.

It may even come down to when you try to enter, before or after an officer has eaten…low blood sugar affects mood. 😂

There is no country on the planet in which non-nationals have an unrestricted right to enter.

Thailand is NOT an exception.

Not that long ago one could live in Thailand long term on border bounces…then it changed, and you couldn’t.

Immigration policy does change and will change.

Yes, for another VISA EXEMPT entry into Thailand…then you can extend that 30 days if you wish.

You need to have a TM 30, Notification from House-Master, Owner or the Possessor of the Residence where Alien has Stayed, on file with immigration for your girlfriend’s residence when you stay there.

If you cannot tolerate clarifying questions for someone to assist you with a specific answer according to YOUR needs…then you can’t.

If all you want to do is to provoke in the manner of a self-absorbed teenager, then stay away.

I guess it might be possible for a VOA, but check with your local immigration office FIRST before making any travel arrangements.

A re-entry permit allows you buy a permit to maintain your long-term visa status, which you have already paid for, by purchasing a permit that allows you to travel out of Thailand temporarily and return without losing your legal status on the long-term visa which you already paid for.

It’s a “Hey, I am coming back, so don’t invalidate my visa because I have left.”
