it doesn’t matter where you work! Did you visit vfs for your visa?

Just call an agent from hometown- apply for retirement non-0- put up all requirements and she gets 1 year stay! Nowhere she have to go!

Or any visa you take- due to her age- insurance can be a major issue of cost to consider!

Irrespective of visa- age says she must have certain insurance for long term visa in Thailand- again you know more the age more difficult and expensive the premiums! So if I were you I would first figure out insurance cost rather than visa!
