The correct thing for hin to do is go back to American and earn some money and get his family over. The worst thing he can do is find a job in Thailand and make his child grow up here. What do you do when a waiter get angry at your for tipping 10%? Do you plan on slapping anyone with a MAGA hat when they tell you to go back to your own country?
