TLDR : Answer Summary
The user successfully opened a bank account at Kasikorn Bank in EmQuartier after obtaining a letter from their school. Other users highlighted the importance of having a residency certificate and mentioned that big banks should generally be accommodating to expats with an ED visa, particularly if they reside in the Asok area.

Just an update. I went to Kasikorn Bank in Emquartier and got it done. They just needed my passpot and letter from my school.

Jesus, I haven't done my 90 day report since I have not been here for 90 days. So I'll have to wait another month and then go to get the residency certificate. I just want to give the Thai banks some money, why are they making it so hard for me.
You're still going to have problems if you are in Bangkok. You'll need a residency certificate at the very least, and immigration in Bangkok will not issue one until you've done a 90 day report, and with the required 90 day extension with an ED visa, you never file a 90 day report. Try the banks at EmQuartier. Some have been having luck there.

If your local Immigration will issue a Residence Certificate (proof of address) to you, then the big banks should be easy.

Make sure you have a letter of your school/university. Then any bank around Asok like Bangkok/Kasikorn bank should be easy.
