I’ve had a DTV since earlier in the year and managed to open a bank account shortly after (wasn’t easy).
I’m planning to move to a new city and province in the next month.
I’m reluctant to inform my local branch in case it causes issues (e.g. order me to close and reopen a new account at my new local branch or even just re-review and clsoe account given my visa type)
My questions for those of you who have experience of Thai banking;
1. Do I need to inform the branch where I opened the account that I’m moving province?
2. If I don’t inform them are there any drawbacks or consequences to this?
For extra context; I haven’t had need to go into the local branch since opening. I have other multiyear investment products / bonds tied to the account which is win/win to keep open for both myself and the branch. Total volume going though the account is reasonably high and account is well used.
Hi. I am on a non O retirement visa with the 800000 baht option and my wife is in a non O retirement visa with 65000 monthly deposit. We live in Chiang Mai and both bank with Bangkok Bank. We are considering a move to Hua Hin but have read that this can create many issues around visa renewal and providing evidence from the bank for accepted time allowances for seasoning if we move to Bangkok Bank in Hua Hin. Is it best to move mid visa or at renewal time. Any advice most welcome Cheers
Hi folks , I'm thinking of applying for a soft dtv next year , my question is as this is a 5 year visa , if I move provinces is it just a matter of registering my new address or is it more complicated than that ? Would it affect my visa negatively?
Hello and first thank-you for all the team working to support this site .. great work!
My question, I am currently on an OA retirement visa extension ( expires Aug 24). I am currently living on Koh Samui but soon will be moving full time up north and so to another province . Am I correct in saying I only have to ensure a new TM30 address is filed ASAP. I do not need to inform Samui immigration locally of my departure ?
Non O extension of stay based on marriage, got an under consideration stamp the other day at Chiang Rai immigration, have to go back on 23rd July for 1 year stamp (can apply here 45 days before expiry and then they put final stamp in 30 days after expiry).
Can I move to Surin and get final stamp there or do I have to wait and use same office?
Also have 90 day report on 23rd June.
Want to move province, not excited about waiting 8 more weeks....
Hi guys, i think i can do this, but you guys know a lot more than me, i am a non 0 90 day visa and will go for the extension of stay next month,
If i move to another provence before i apply, does it make a difference as it will be a different office i will deal with, or is it best to stay put till i get the extension?
